It was obvious that DA didn’t trust Grupe earlier in the quarter. 4th down at GB36 with 6 min left and we decided to punt instead of kicking the 53 yarder. The surrender index listed it in the 97 percentile of most cowardly punt of 2023 and 95 percentile of all punts since 1999.
If this is the case, the decision to keep him instead of Lutz seems to be a serious mistake.

Bottom line is they should have called plays that enabled them to get another first down and make that FG a chip shot to win the game. Grupe is a rookie he will learn

You earn a coach’s trust. Apparently Grupe is shaky from that range outdoors. At least Allen seems to think so.

They kept him because those mid range FGs were supposed to be layups. I know shite happens, just disappointing. You have 1 job

You should not lose because the kicker missed a FG when you were up 17-0. This is not Grupe’s fault.
