Mickey doesn't appear to be a person willing to start over. It's clear to me he thinks he's been outsmarting the cap for 15 years and our multiple Superbowl wins proves it

Micky and his ego are the problem. He can’t see the forest through the trees. It’s why he needs to go, there is no long term plan of sustainability and now it’s time to pay the piper.

He’s incapable of cleaning up the mess he created.

We should move Latt and Chase Young. Not sure anybody else we could actually trade has any value.

If you look at what defensive players get traded for at the deadline…it’s generally not much.

I wouldn’t expect much for Latt if we do trade him. Or Young.

Lattimore and Young are the only possible candidates. Most of our vet contracts are untraceable and moving Olave at this point would be a difficult prospect

Maybe when Gayle was going around the front office and DA to talk to the players to get a feel for what’s really going on she also went around Loomis and spoke with Harley and will force some moves???

FYI, not a serious response as I realize that’s not how this would work

No, but it’s a sign of goodwill for future players who may sign with us. Latt, thanks for all you gave us, we’re not gonna hold you hostage and have you waste half a season of the back end of your prime playing out a season with nothing to play for.

Same for Young. Thanks for taking a chance and signing with us, we’ll send you to a team with an actual chance this season.

It’d be one thing if they were gonna potentially be in our future plans, but those 2 will be long gone by the time we’re ready to compete whether we trade them today or not.

Buddy is a redskins fan, he said he’s hearing they have an offer of a 5th rounder on the table for Latt.

Not sure if I rather just keep him for that.

Crazy, Loomis gave up a freaking 3rd for Bradley Roby and he’s not half the player Latt is.

Just another example of his incompetence.

Overall I obviously do not want dead money for players not on the team, but what's done is done as far as the set up for several of these dumb contracts. You cannot correct past sins, but you don't have to keep certain players on the roster either. Rip the band-aid off, dead money be damned.

--Lattimore depends on compensation and how it affects cap because he is still a legit CB1 and I lean towards keeping him. Adebo has been a let down this season, Taylor has been great at Nickel so perhaps he should stay there, and Kool-Aid has not yet proven he's ready to step up and be a starter at boundary CB.
--Young if he leaves via free agency we can probably get a comp pick equal to or better what someone would likely trade him for. He's not getting many sacks so people are saying he sucks, but he's not actually playing horribly. He signed a 1yr/$13M deal, he has yet to earn a dollar more than that next season. I keep him and evaluate the rest of the season on a possible 2nd contract in the offseason. I could see another 1 or 2yr deal again at around $13M/yr, which is also what Granderson is getting paid.
--Kamara I would have said trade, but I'm not sure of cap implications now
--Taysom likely is not going anywhere
--Jordan probably does not want to be traded, but if he does he's only netting a 6th or 7th at this point.
--Mathieu probably is more open to trade, but still only netting a 6 or 7.
--Carr's contract just sucks so bad. Nobody is trading for him, and he is not the path forward, firing Allen absolutely sealed that.

We would be looking at a ton of dead money, but this team is in need of a major reset. Trade who you think there is even a possibility that you might cut, even if only for a 7th rd pick, and cut who is not part of the plan going forward. Let new coach start off with younger players, and round out the roster with a bunch of UDFAs, sucks but its the only way out of this hole.

The Saints should have been hounding the Lions about sending them Young. Too late now.

I think the 3 you move is Latt,Young, and Olave those are the 3 you can get the most back from if the goal is to build for the future and acquire as many picks as possible

If this is true then it's a good sign. ESPN has reported that KC is very interested in Latt and to if two team are looking at him we may get a fair value for him.

IMO you trade him for a 5th if that's what you can get. The Saints are not in a position to strong arm teams on trades. They need draft picks and really need to do right by the players if they want to be traded.

Jerruh traded a 4th rounder for Jonathan Mingo so maybe we can get someone to bite

Nick underhill doesn’t think they will do anything.

Yea they got Smith for a 5th and a 6th. I probably woukd have taken that for Young. Maybe they plan on resigning him. We don’t have crap at end outside Granderson. Fosky and Turner are busts.

This should be the default position.

Loomis absolute does not want to firesale. He didn't want to fire DA, Gayle made him.

He will say they won't sell low and no deals were available.

Good organizations prey on stupid organizations doing things like this.
Also why would we trade him for less than what we would get for his compensatory pick.
