8 targets. 8 receptions. 93 yds. 1 TD.
And quite a few of his catches today looked like early Mike Thomas. Dog type effort.
Last 2 games. 11/15 130 yds. 1 TD.
I guess old QBs and old WRs have a certain connection.

Just to show that adjustment periods take place: Rashid Shaheed has played 2.5 games with a good offensive team in Seattle and has 2 catches for 27 yards.

Nah, I still think it was a bad trade.
This team needs young talent, not a receiver that will be the same age as Mike Thomas when he checked out the league when his contract expires in two years.

Statmuse
So your only comparison of Vele is the end of career MT...
What ever you do don't look at the nfl history and current WRs and their stats after age 26.

I agree there needs to be more to justify the trade. Still funny we all know you’re seething in your man cave.

It's ok homie. You can die on that hill. We understand you have too much pride to admit 99% of your takes are shite.

Lol. I just bumped one earlier today with the board telling me how stupid I was for thinking Achane was better than Miller draft day.

No reason they waited this long to use him

A decent game and suddenly the has justified the early 4th rounder Loomis got fleeced on?
Bet you almost shot off in your pants in the 2nd half......couldn't get to the Saints Talk board fast enough to defend your boy.
He is still very very very far from justifying what we gave up for him.
Broken clock is right twice a day, Nostradamus.

It was more than a decent game, and you can see his potential as a big body receiver.
A 4th round pick has a 60-70% chance to make the roster, and only a 20% chance to become a starter. Even though Loomis is a dog water GM, as of now it's not a fleecing. We'll see how it plays out over the final 5 games.

I see Vele the same way I see Queen for the Pels. The price to acquire was absolutely not worth it, but he is filling a big role for the team and has great upside.
There is nothing we can do about the draft picks at this point. I won't hold it against him, especially if he is performing. The Dolphins literally had no answer for him.

That's a horrible analogy. In the NBA, once you get beyond the top 10 or so it's pretty much a crapshoot.
Here, the Saints got a guy with some degree of proven NFL production in exchange for a 4th round pick. The likelihood of a 4th round pick being a tremendous player is relatively low. Even the likelihood of a 4th round pick being a good starter is low. It's not like the Saints took on a huge contract in exchange for the pick. Even if Vele turns out to be just a solid #3 WR it wasn't a bad trade because you received a known commodity for an unknown chance. Take a look at prior 4th round selections for all teams. It's not exactly a star-studded group. You're really just hoping to get a reliable starter...which Vele can potentially be
