We’re a has been franchise chasing the success we used to have. When Brees and Sean left we should’ve started over. Until coaching changes are made and a true reset begins this will be the Saints. Signing Carr and bring back Allen for another year is hard headed. Allen is a proven loser and Carr is a middle of the road QB.

Saints don't believe in rebuilding. Just mortgaging the farm for next year hoping for a hit. They been doing this since Drew last few years hoping for a home run.

We have good talent on defense. We need a pass rusher.

We have good skill level players and an average QB.

Our offensive line is terrible.

If we had a good play caller, this would be a playoff team.

We aren’t that far away and don’t need to trade away everyone. We need to let guys like Peat and Mathieu walk. We need to sign guys like MT13 and Kamara to team friendly deals. We need to beef up the offensive and defensive line and bring in a whole new coaching staff.

You aren’t that far away from being a mediocre team

You’re worlds away from being a contender

We should have started over before Brees and spayton left

We allowed spayton and Loomis to make all of the decisions

I am not totally blaming them as we were so close to being good and then when Atlanta, Carolina went completely reset and it looked like Tampa Bay was going to have to rebuild they decided to try to get one last hayride. It just didn’t work.

Hot the GD giant reset button now

I thought this was going to be a thread about the Saints relocating the franchise a la Baltimore to Indianapolis or Oakland to Vegas.

Given NOLA’s current state and dim future, I’d be seriously trying to.

First time since the beginning of the Brees era that I feel no hope at all for the immediate future.

A qb, coach, OC, o line is the definition of far away man.

Having a GM/owner who continue to put bandaids on shite makes you even further away. We’re kind of a mom and pop franchise at this point and until we organize and get serious about not continuing to chase the Brees/SP years we will continue to be so.

Loomis and Lauscha are very shrewd in the knowledge that a total Re-build would not be in the long term best interests of Loomis and Lauscha. The reason is this: both are very skilled at keeping their jobs BUT they are shrewd enough to know that they have NO idea about how to do a successful total Re-build.

They are wise enough to know that it would be foolish for them to try, because then they would expose themselves as lacking in that key football knowledge. They would expose themselves as frauds.

It's much more wise (for their own personal best interests) to pursue the current course of action, which some describe as "kicking the can down the road".

I made this comment the day they signed Carr. And for 6 months, most of Saints Talk was doing mental gymnastics to convince themselves Carr was the missing piece of a championship club.

The coaching staff is trash. But they’re not winning meaningful with Carr. The ceiling is a home playoff game by winning the division, and that’s only attainable because the division is bad.

But a 4 seed and a home playoff game shouldn’t be the ultimate goal. And if you’re not trying for the ultimate goal, why bother? At least if they had “tanked”, you could say they’re trying to build toward being a SB contender. You’re not doing that with this QB.

Lol we need 2 more? Another shite take- do you know how difficult it is to get even one good pash rusher on your team. We drafted 2 in first round that didn’t even pan out. We should be lucky Granderson is a stud now and Cam has been good for so long.
