And it was his 2nd best receiving game ever, and his best ypc game with 8 or more catches.

Jameis isn't allowed to get better as a season progresses though. This board has made that apparent.

The only stat you’ve provided is that in one game

I've also provided several more in relation to different arguments against jameis as well. It's too bad you have a selective memory and can't remember the other Ls you took in those threads too.

Cool. Then why did he stop doing it again this year?

Sure he is. Problem is he didn’t get better, he got worse. Then he went to the bench and the offense began to operate efficiently.

I’ll ask you the same thing I’ve asked in other threads: Why do you have a problem with a better offense?

i don't even have the energy to bring up the hypocritical nature of every one of your defenses being brought to the table for jameis of what you argued with me about with taysom over past 2.5 years.

lack of weapons
non existent o line
shitty play calling and schemes
playing through injuries himself

Can you two go bump one of the many threads you’ve already ruined?

This thread concedes, Jamies did not get a fair shake

Only thing he cares about: Taysom and Dalton aren’t black.

I’ve made the same argument you’re making this this thread, and nothing else. Dalton is better for the offense.

Let's look at just one parameter and see if it makes us think the play calling has changed maybe a tad.

Atl 34 Pass 19 Run
TB 40 Pass 20 Run
Car 41 Pass 22 Run

Winston 115 Pass 61 Run W-L is 1-2

Minn 28 Pass 27 Run
Sea 25 Pass 48 Run
Cin 36 Pass 34 Run
Ari 49 Pass 22 Run
LV 32 Pass 23 Run

Dalton 170 Pass 154 Run W-L is 2-3

The play calling for Winston was almost 2-1 passing, for Dalton nearly even. But I still stick with Dalton if I'm the coach.

I understand

But this thread is about kamara’s effectiveness /importance and Dalton operating a top 10 offense

Kamara’s 17 game pace with Dalton under center

1330 yards rushing
4 rush TDs

119 receptions
1139 yards receiving
8 TDs

This is the way, this is the path to winning football

I know. I’ve made this argument several times.

Your thread is about ANDY DALTON which knows how to effectively operate the offense even minus substantial offensive talent over the alternative of Jameis Winston. There is no high and mighty way of avoiding qb bickering.

Point is you're getting pissy about two arguing about the qb's. That's essentially what this thread was calling out.

Call my ak takes specifically out whenever you want. This has been the first time that Alvin has expressed team leadership publicly. I'll shite on players when due and i'll give players credit when due. I've also expressed usage frustration with the staff earlier in the year about not using Kamara enough or properly.

He created a thread to make the same argument I’ve been making for weeks.

Andy Dalton is better for this offense.

Winston 115 Pass

Do we know why AK41 caught 5 of these passes for 17 yards?

Run rate vs pass rate does not exist in a vacuum

When you are facing a double digit deficit in the second half of games, teams shift to passing.

When you are playing a close game or playing with a lead, your run rate climbs.

There’s 15 years of SP and Carmichael offenses to pull from

There’s a reason Brees averages 650+ attempts in the 7-9s, leading the league twice.

There’s a reason saints were top 10 in run rate during their successful years.

I’m in the “the offense is better w Dalton at QB” camp, but the OC has been shitty at utilizing weapons until this week, and there are still things that can be improved.

AK w limited to zero touches in the red zone. Shaheed making a big play, then not seeing the field much after. Taysom moving the offense, yet doesn’t see the field in the 4th.

Hell Pete was asked specifically about his lack of usage for all 3 just 2 weeks ago

This thread is about getting the ball into the hands of your best offensive playmaker and the success that comes with it.

I thought whatiknowsadar was done posting or else I would’ve shelved this post. Hand up, that’s on me

Good question. I suspect it is because they were throwing downfield too much. The question is whether that was simply poor play calling or was it Winston making the wrong choices.

Agreed and I almost put that in my original post. It is why I said it was a simple metric, not because it makes it easy to see but because it does not take any other nuances into account.

quote:

Indeed, hard to argue with this. I would also say that you can see play calling also seems to take the QB into account. You can see it with Teddy Bridgewater and how the games were called.

I wonder if some of the early pass-happy stuff also related to them trying to get a view of Winston's ability to make decisions and the plays in the vertical game because that is supposed to be his redeeming quality.

Long and short is that I think we agree that Kamara needs to be utilized more appropriately. What we may not agree on is if we know the reason he wasn't in the Jameis games was that Jameis made poor decisions where AK was concerned or if the playcalling was underutilizing him. I could see either being the case.

The experts you pay no attention to are the Saints coaches. Who picked Red to start over JW. Not sure they care about that "one game last year" as much as you. But carry on its been fun to read so far.
