I think a trade could happen but it would have to be for one of Seattle’s second round picks. And that pick would probably end up being Robert Hunt or someone to compete with Easton. I don’t see a scenario where we upgrade that spot with a rookie. I mean Warford wasn’t great but he wasn’t Unger level bad his last year where McCoy was an obvious upgrade.

But who knows. Payton and co might really like someone like Hunt and think he would instantly be better and would rather roll with him and fall back on Easton.

Does this apply to us drafting a Center in the first round? I am amazed you didn't think of that considering it was one of our biggest weaknesses right?

Ruiz is puzzling UNLESS Warford is traded. Everyone feels better about Ruiz if Warford is gone

Didn’t think we’d trade up in the first for one. Considering he’s the best interior OL in the draft? He’s most likely an upgrade

Glad to see you’re still reaching and melting like the fricking pussy you are though.

But it's hard to feel like you upgraded the team a whole lot if you dump Larry and draft Cesar Ruiz, for example, at 24 to replace him.

Your statement will be put to the test.

I expect Warford to be traded.

He needs to be gone, even if you only get a low third

Glad to see you’re a bitch who completely disagrees with himself because you want to pretend to be woke on this pick.

I wanted a LB but it wasn’t a bad pick. They took value at a position they wanted to upgrade

They can always go get someone tomorrow. Get some sleep man

If you trade Warford you do it with the intention of getting into the 2nd round this year but no team does that deal straight up. Offer Warford plus either our 4th this year or our 3rd next year (Seattle’s choice) for one of their 2nd round picks and then go after either Logan Wilson or Zack Baun to fill the ILB need and then you either have your 3rd or 4th round pick still to take a WR like Devin Duvernay, Lynn Bowden or Van Jefferson.

Idk if anyone is going to give up anything more than a third for a Guard on the last year of his deal.

Two third rounders would really help us. We could use one of them and a 2021 second round pick to move into the 2nd round. Or we can just keep both third rounders and use a 2021 first round pick to get into the second round so we can load up on CB, LB and WR

Considering how injured the interior line was last year, i say just use Ruiz as a backup for one season behind Peat, McCoy, and Warford while rotating him in on 2nd downs to give the other 3 a break when needed - then slide Mccoy over to G and put him in at C if/when Warford gets away in FA.

Saints plans may be bigger than that, getting an extra 8.5 mil in cap space by trading Warford would allow them to possibly extend Kamara or do some other move (trade) that requires cap space.
My preference would be Warford plus our 4th or 5th this year or our 3rd round pick next year for one of Seattle 2nd's.

Our starting RG for a mere 3rd

that's a lot of value returned. i was hoping we could get a 5th for him. a 3rd would be a steal

It is funny. Everyone on here is just bashing Warford even though he was good last year (10th rated guard through week 15). All everyone remembers is the playoff game. The only weakness on the Oline was Peat and we went ahead and extended him. Everyone is bashing Warford yet thinks we should be able to trade him for decent draft capital (3rd or better) even when he is a 1 year rental.

The Saints are literally saying he didn’t take conditioning seriously or finish blocks. I mean.. it’s not just the fans

There could definitely be ulterior motives going on with that. All I know is that Warford graded out very good overall last year from what I consider the non-biased evaluations. There is no denying that as a unit our O-line has been great even last year. That does not mean it had an issue here or there but as a whole it was one of our strengths. On the surface it is also very underwhelming to use our top pick the last 2 drafts on an interior linemen which are typically some of the least valued positions in the draft as a whole.

Saints obviously value interior OL even if fans don’t
