The #Texans are now willing to listen — and have been for some time — to trade offers for star QB Deshaun Watson, multiple sources tell me and @RapSheet. But the price is high for a player of his caliber, and should be. It’d likely take at least three first-round picks and more.

I’m so surprised that they are willing to trade him now that he has 20+ accusations against him.

My question is how would saints fans feel about this? He’s one of the best young QB’s in the game. The Saints would be set at QB for the next decade. They would have to give up a lot of picks and it’s very possible he faces a significant suspension. Then again, these are all just allegations currently.

YUGE pass. Hell all the allegations might be false innocent until proven guilty and all. But I wouldn't touch that situation until it gets sorted out.

I think I read that Philly is really interested in the trade but requires the legal situation to be resolved before the trade.

Well, almost every team in the league feels the same. That would make it a lot easier.

Any team trading for him needs to make sure the legal situation is resolved. At the very least, they need to have all the details. You can’t invest the capital it would take to get him, and his contract; when there is a risk of a long term suspension. Hell, if it’s bad enough he could get in the commissioner’s list and suspended indefinitely. Then the team will be out 2-3 1st rounders with nothing to show for it.

By your reasoning the Saints will never win another superbowl because they don't spend three years worth of draft capital, and take on a massive contract on a player who is facing sexual assault allegations from 22 different women before finding out what the ramifications of those allegations will be?

Yep you are right it's my logic that is flawed.

Nobody is giving them multiple first rounders for a guy that you dont know if he’ll be able to play over the next couple years

They can be open all they want. As a talent I'd love him as a Saint but no one is giving up 3 1st round picks to inherit this mess until it settles and clarifies.

All of his allegations would have to be dropped and NFL would have to agree to no suspension otherwise he has no trade value
Now if you can fleece the Texans for a 6/7 round pick than that would be about all I would offer but even that doesn't help saints absorbing that contract with salary cap

Raiders would be a much better fit

I think the accusations are BS and the lawyer representing the accusers is a POS

I would try to use the accusations as leverage to lower the price; Kamara and Ram should be the only untouchables.

As soon as the Saints traded for him you know the NFL would suspend him.

Stay away.
