Tell me again how it's so hard to beat a team 3 straight in the NFL?

I mean it’s not hard. Since 1990 13 of 17 teams that swept the regular season have won the third meeting in the playoffs. 5 of 6 in the divisional round or later.

1999 Jaguars went 14-2 and then lost in the playoffs.

Their two regular season losses... to the Titans

Their playoff loss... to the Titans.

I am still incredibly salty about our 2013 loss in Foxboro. Their offensive line got away with murder on the game winning drive.

I think it is fair to say that this Bucs team has played better than the two previous encounters. Saints are still the favorites, but we should definitely expect a better showing from Tampa.

if we could just erase some horrible endings to our season lately maybe I'd feel better going into the game.

that said, this could be the year where the Saints turn the tables on the remaining competition.

if 93 and 98 have a good game tomorrow we will win.

I promise you that.

Since their loss to us they've beaten carolina, Atlanta twice, Detroit, minny and football team. All teams with losing records. They've lost to the chiefs and rams both team that are still alive. I like our chances.

While that's an encouraging statistic, I would imagine not many of those teams being swept had a first ballot HOF QB with 6 Super Bowl rings. That said, I like our defense playing in the Dome, even with a sparse crowd.

Call my analysis crazy and off base, but when I see that Team A beat Team B twice in one season that usually means Team A is the BETTER TEAM. In professional football, the focus is ramped up x100 in the playoffs as it is a one and done scenario. This isn’t high school or even college where kids may just coast into the game. These are professional athletes. Brees, Jordan, and Davis, etc will not allow our team to go into this game just expecting to win. We have the better team and we should win.

Yeah a lot of people try to say how good they've looked since but they haven't beaten anyone aside from GB all year.

That is literally the ONLY team with a winning record they beat all year, and iirc GB was missing Linsley and some other people.

The same reason that our average divisional teams play us close. Teams become very familiar with your personnel and tendencies. Games are often close.

Their oline is shite and our dline will feast. This will be the difference in the game. At the end of the day, it is about matchups on the LOS and we have a huge advantage on D

Actually in these scenarios where “Team A” is 2-0 and wins a third time, they usually beat “Team B” by more in the second and third games than they did the first.
