I have posted about this before and my cousin is one of the top hip specialist in the USA. I spoke to him the other day and he said that the surgery Tua had is major major shite and the likely hood of him getting hurt is extremely HIGH. Also there is just no good way of treating the complications normal people have from that surgery. The only thing they can do is total hip replacement if he aggravates it. It's the same injury Bo Jackson had that ended his nfl career. I am not a doctor but I trust my cousins opinion on hip surgery 1000%

I hope to God the Saints don't frick up and trade up to get him when we don't need a QB! I do hope Carolina, New England or any other NFC team does waste a pick on him.

Yep... but if he does in fact stay healthy... some GM is going to strike gold and look like a genius.

Drafting a QB in the first round is an automatic 50% chance of a bust. And that’s being generous. That’s counting Mark Sanchez and Derek Carr as NOT busts.

Tua is as talented as any prospect in the last 10 drafts. You think Josh Allen is less risky because he’s healthy?? He’s a healthy fricking Josh Allen lol.

Gimme the generational kid and I’ll hope he’s healthy.

You’re going to pass up on a QB coin flip for what? An offensive tackle? A really good DT? Lol.

If Tua is there at 24 I’d be thrilled if we took him. Especially knowing he can basically red shirt his rookie year

I’d also assume there have been medical advancements between 1991 and 2020

Multiple doctors went on the record saying the injuries although similar were "completely different"

LINK

Not to say the injury wasn't severe but to compare it apples to apples to Bo's injury doesn't seem to be the correct way to go about it.

I would actually like to see us draft him. He can learn behind Drew for a year and give him more time to heal. Great situation if you ask me. I would take him with a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Not sure if I would draft him in the 1st though

He's the second least risky QB in the draft behind Burrow. And long gone are the days you had to pay #1 pick QB's stupid money.

If I really need at QB and I can't get Burrow, Tua is my pick. If it doesn't work out you can cut him loose after 4 years without giving him a huge contract. But the upside is worth the risk compared to the other QB's available. By NO MEANS are Herbert, Love, or the others "sure things". The guy was viewed as a #1 lock going into the season. He'd, at worst, be #2 if it wasn't for the injury. I'd trust the advances in sports medicine over the last 30 years would keep it from being a "Bo" situation.

If Tua is there at 24, which I doubt, I can see the Saints taking him. I don't think trading up for him makes any sense because of his past injuries and how fragile he may be going forward. He wouldn't be as big a risk at 24 if he injured his hip and misses serious time as he would be if you traded up for him.

The whole low Wonderlic score thing has me wondering how much trouble he'd have picking up and executing Payton's offense.

I think he has the talent is far better prospect than Josh Allen or several others drafted past QB, and he would do very well in the NFL. He is just not durable. Two high ankle sprains and a horrible hip injury. My cousin said when your hip breaks like that severity does not matter it's pretty much the same as Bo Jackson's period. It's just matter of hits before he's done. I just pray saints don't draft him!

Read somewhere that at least 3 teams took him totally off their draft boards. Not sure how much stock to put in
that info could be BS.

Nothing at all like Bo's Bo had avascular necrosis which caused his hip to fail. There has been no indication whatsoever that Tua has had any indication of this.
