Drafting a QB in the first round is an automatic 50% chance of a bust. And that’s being generous. That’s counting Mark Sanchez and Derek Carr as NOT busts.

Tua is as talented as any prospect in the last 10 drafts. You think Josh Allen is less risky because he’s healthy?? He’s a healthy fricking Josh Allen lol.

Gimme the generational kid and I’ll hope he’s healthy.

I don't really like Tua. I felt he didn't take enough personal responsibility after the losses to Clemson and LSU. But if he's still around at 24 (which he won't be) I'd have to take him.

If he's still available at 24, I would trade the pick for another teams 1 and 2nd round pick at the least.

Here’s where we are - in today’s NFL, a team MUST have a good QB to really be successful long term. It’s a necessity.

With that said, EVERY QB is a gamble. How many times have we had can’t miss prospects that turned out to be duds? And how many completely the opposite? The truth is you just never know until they arrive in the league. Sometimes that gamble works and sometimes not, but you have to go for it if you don’t have one in the bank. Hopefully a good one falls to you in that instance and you don’t have to reach.

Tua has all the tools to be a great NFL QB, Bama alum or not. Will he remains to be seen, but the same is true for any of these guys. Imo he’s a calculated risk that at the right pick (not #2 or 3 for sure) is a great choice. My gut feeling is he winds up pretty good in the league and the injury becomes a thing of the past. Time will tell but I think someone lands their guy for the next 5-10 years.

It's like doubling down on an 11 in blackjack. Sure you can lose to the house, but your payoff is massive and worth the risk. You always double down on 11

frick no. If Tua's there at 24 we take him.

He'll get another full year of rest and getting healthy, plus we get one of the two top QBs in the class

frick no. If he's there at 17 you trade up and take him. You don't let a genuine blue chipper like that get away. Jump Meyahmi sitting there at 18 and grab the next Brees.

I say you trade up to 10-11 actually if he is there. This is a no brainer. People want to overthink and overanalyze this. That's why Brees was not playing in Meyahmi in '06

That is the one situation where I consider trading next year's 1st, and I don't even think that highly of Tua as a prospect.

I have posted about this before and my cousin is one of the top hip specialist in the USA. I spoke to him the other day and he said that the surgery Tua had is major major shite and the likely hood of him getting hurt is extremely HIGH. Also there is just no good way of treating the complications normal people have from that surgery. The only thing they can do is total hip replacement if he aggravates it. It's the same injury Bo Jackson had that ended his nfl career. I am not a doctor but I trust my cousins opinion on hip surgery 1000%

I hope to God the Saints don't frick up and trade up to get him when we don't need a QB! I do hope Carolina, New England or any other NFC team does waste a pick on him.

Thank you for sharing. If you get the chance, could you ask your cousin if a year if resting the injury would help in his recovery or is his hip a time bomb ready to explode. I’ve also heard many people say that if Bo’s injury was 5-10 years later, he would not have had to retire due to the advancements in medicine. I’m not sure how accurate that is though.

Saints like drafting from hospitals, they love it when they can get a broken player. Only drew has shown to be the one thats been reliable. shite, Tua might slide to us or worst, they trade up to get him.
