I like Taysom, but with his recent concussion problems, Payton is going to deploy him like a regular QB, which he sucks at. We saw last year that his pocket presence is terrible and he is a fumble waiting to happen. If you aren't gonna run a Lamar Jackson offense with him, you take away the only thing he is good at.

Ok?

The other option is Trevor Seimian lol

That’s worse.

Why worry about a thing that is your only viable option

Honestly, I do think Seimian would be better to run our current offense. I think Taysom is the superior football player, but I think Seimian is the better QB

Your ignorance is noted.

Not yet. Payton did however specifically state at the beginning of the year after Winston was announced starter that Taysom would return his joker role and Siemian would be the #2 emergency QB on game day (just like Winston last year) and that if Winston would be out the following week, he would make Taysom the starting QB with a full week to prepare him. Reason being is that in the course of a regular week Taysom is too involved with his joker to get QB reps.

Siemian's performance yesterday was good, almost very good considering he came off the bench against a very good D, but the question is was it good enough to make Payton go against his original plan?

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't expect the playoffs. Just enjoy the rest of the season and hope to see the rest of our guys stay healthy and play well. That's all you can really do.

Really sucks because Jameis looked really good in that last game

And that's the thing, has Hill been cleared yet? If they're still unsure when it's time to come up with the gameplan I could see Payton going with Siemian even if Hill gets cleared later in the week just because Siemian would have had the full week, and then going to Hill the week after unless Siemian plays out of his mind

I don't see any reason why the playoffs are no longer a realistic expectation. I'm not expecting a SB but playoffs are very much in play, in fact I'd be disappointed if we don't make it at this point. We're 5-2, two games ahead of the next wild card spot. Still got the Dolphins, Jets, Falcons x2, Panthers at home, Eagles. All very winnable games and don't be surprised if we take one from either the Bucs, Bills, or Cowboys. 10-7, 11-6 is still quite attainable from my perspective. Possibly even better than that if the defense keeps playing the way it has

Yes he said in his presser yesterday that Taysom would be starting. Go to the 5:40 mark

To anyone who doesn't think we are a playoff team, we only need to go 5-5 to finish the season to win 10 games. Our defense and ST will keep us in almost every game, regardless of who the QB is.

Same here. We have been very fortunate so far. Despite all the injuries this team has persevered. I don't think that it has quite sunk to most fans yet how big this win was because of the distraction from Winston's injury. Most other teams would have not been in as good of shape. The credit should go to the staff and quality players they have put in place.

Also the Titans with Derrick Henry out for the season. We should have 11-12 wins this season. Even with Taysom or Siemien especially when Michael Thomas comes back.

Looks like giving Taysom a shot in training camp is going to really help him be better at QB now. I do think he is the better QB but this kid has 56 games as a starter under his belt.
That’s almost 4 years of reading defensive, studying game plans, and learning player tendencies. And the biggest thing is he has Peyton as his coach and play caller now. Bridgwater and Jamies were much better QB under Payton, will it now be Trevor?
He played really good in a very tuff situation against a fierce d-line. I think it’s a tuff choice after that game he had.
