Stupar cut to make room for Gillislee

I’m a little surprised that he was the one chosen to be cut. Played out of his mind in Game 4 and was a great story bouncing back from his ACL injury.
I’m sure he’ll latch on with another team soon.

Poor guy just posted about him being in the NFL for like 7 years.
But reality is, he was the smartest cut: Saves 1.725m while only 400k in dead cap
All the other guys are minimum $. it was a more prudent financial decision IMHO

Probably has to do with how much money Stupar made.
Johnathan Freeny was cut by the Lions. He might be a possible addition if one of our LB's gets injured.

I think we'll keep Gillislee if he ends up working out for us. If he sucks, then probably gone.

If the comparisons are accurate, is there any reason to keep Gillislee when Ingrams comes back?

Yeah definitely looks financial. Can probably be brought back week 2 for minimum (unless someone else really likes him), and his salary wouldn't be guaranteed.

If he's good enough. It can't hurt to have a legit power back in case something happens to Ingram (this is also the last year of Ingram's contract). Also if this year is anything like the last 3 years...at least 1 of the current 53 will be placed on IR by the time week 5 rolls around. Chances are we'll have the space for him.
