Were you actually excited about the last 3 seasons?
I'm prob the most excited I've been since 2021. There are literally zero expectations. They go out, play hard, win a game or two they shouldn't, and I will be stoked moving into 2026. Worst case scenario, the young QBs don't work out and we are in prime position to draft a QB high in a stacked QB draft.

Majority of this board liked the Allen hire and thought he deserved the head coaching job.
There's no way anyone was this stupid.

That's a out right BS lie.
The majority wanted a soft or hard reset/rebuild to address the cap.
What your feeble mind is recalling is that most understood playing it safe as a old FO, staying inside the org for the HC who was the DC of a top ten defense.
You don't need to lie to be a competent poster. Well...forget that last part.

Look at my post history (or my prior account bonethug0108), and you can see I have been an Allen hater pretty much since we brought him back to "baby sit" aka sabotage Ryan and take his job.
I think I may have had a bit of hope that the coverage would come together, but that soon evaporated when 3rd and Allen was born.
Allen taking over for Payton was one of the darkest days in Saint's history for me.

In response to all replies to the topic, I have to set the record straight. I did not want DA as our head coach and was NEVER excited about the DA /Pete Carmichael Continuity Tour from its inception. The Saints have been a mess since the year before Brees retired and Payton sold us out, and we have done NOTHING to uphold or attempt to continue "The Standard" that was set during the Payton era.
I am not a young kid. I was a kid when Archie was our QB when we went 8-8 under Hank Stram. I have been a Saints fan my entire life. I went to games when Tulane was painted in the end zone. I have lived through all of the thin years and the glory of the Drew Brees era.
Like it or not, want to believe it or not, we are currently rudderless with no leadership from ownership or GM. I have hope for the new coach and do not envy the position he is in, but I don't see more than 3 wins. We are old. We are bereft of talent. We don't have an NFL franchise quality QB. Everyone sees it this way except die hard black and gold glasses wearing fans that can't look at their team objectively.
Cap room and draft capital for next year sounds great and points to a potentially bright future, but none of this matters if MICKEY LOOMIS is the one making decisions about how we spend our money or who we draft.
