Spags beat the 9ers.

Allen had a two TD lead and lost to the 9ers at home.

Allen’s defense has no real leadership and plays passively, much like Allen. Also if there is a time where the D absolutely must make a play, they fail every time.

There’s literally no reason to keep Allen as DC. His defense has failed enough to where we know what we have.

Spags D while he was with Saints was historically bad, so what's your point?

I’m not sure how you could say this with a straight face. I don’t dislike Allen but I’m not overly impressed by him either. But to say he has no leadership on his defense while having guys like Davis and Jordan then you’re obviously handicapped. Second, brees goes down for 5 weeks. There wasn’t a bigger situation all year that called for the defense to make stops. Do you have any idea what the defense did during this time? Whenever i start to feel bad about myself all i have to do is come on here and read some of this stuff.

Davis is a true leader. Jordan likes talking shite on twitter and then not backing it up.

I’m glad the defense performed well during the season before reverting to its normal choke artist selves against the 49ers and the Vikings

How about when we played the 49ers at home and we let them get into field goal position in like two plays?

How about in the playoffs when we let Kirk Cousins, the QB dumbfrick Cam Jordan talked shite about on twitter before the game, cakewalk down the field on us to win the game?

Both those situations are bigger than when Bridgewater and company went 5-0

And you are wrong. 9ers made the SB that year with one of the best D's in the league.

No. Myopic, ignorant thinking does. I don't have the energy to fully destroy your stupid premise, but I will leave you with this:

Spags w/ Saints = worst D in NFL history

Allen w/ Saints = 7th overall ranked defense

Allen vs 9rs = injury riddled defense that couldn't overcome the key player losses

Now do Allen vs Vikings in playoffs...

His defense has been top 10...top 15 at the worst for the past 3 years.

For some reason, his defense sucks complete arse for the 1st 2 games. He completely turns it around after that. If he could start out good week 1...our defense might be ranked top 5. Those 1st couple of games are so bad that it drags down our average by a decent amount.

He's not perfect, but he's easily the best in the CSP era. His defense & CSP's offense are a pretty good combination. Our special teams has been great the last 2 years as well. I thought Darren Rizzi did a good job last year besides defending the on-side kick that 1 game. That was embarrassing.

You can dislike certain things about him, but I don't think it's time to move on from Allen yet.

I'm more concerned about who the new LB coach is going to be. It sucks that we lost Nolan to the Cowboys, but it was inevitable that someone would offer him a DC job eventually. We were very fortunate to get 3 years out of him as a LB coach.

I'm pleased with Aaron Glenn as secondary coach, & he might eventually be offered a DC job as well. I think it was the Jets that interviewed him for that position recently, but they went with someone else. I doubt he'll be here forever.

CSP made a great hire in Ryan Nielsen for D-Line coach. Nielsen must have interviewed very well, b/c he came out of nowhere (NC State). Bryan Young (pass rushing specialist coach) seems like he's pretty good as well. These 2 might be here for a long time.

Our run defense wasn't nearly as good as it should have been down the stretch. Davenport & Rankins being out was a huge blow. Davenport is a borderline elite run defender, & was replaced by Hendrickson (basically a pass rushing specialist). Rankins was replaced by Onyemata (he had a down year in 2019) & Shy Tuttle...an udfa rookie. Mario Edwards is also more of a pass rusher than run stopper.

Kiko & Anzalone getting injured really sucked. They're both good in pass coverage, & Kiko is legit against the run as well. It sucks that he probably won't be here next year.

PJ Williams & PRob got abused against the Vikings. The shitty thing is that PRob had a few great games in a row before the Vikings game. I doubt either will be back next year. Maybe PJ (UFA) if he's willing to give us a discount, but cutting PRob saves us a decent amount of money.

Allen deserves some blame, but he was dealt a pretty shitty hand by the time the playoffs came.
