Winston is NOT a smart QB and not a franchise QB. The coaching staff already knows this. Otherwise, they would have had nothing to do with the DeShaun Watson sweepstakes. This is probably the single biggest reason that Sean Payton resigned his position. Now the coaches might have to mend the relationship with Winston and try to re-re-sign him.
He has never shown any consistency during his career. He’s always very up and down. Those kinds of guys don’t win championships.

You can’t argue the intelligence, or lack thereof, of a QB then use Baker as your counter point. He has pulled some idiotic and very immature stunts. He also has torn apart a locker room to where some of the better WRs don’t want to play w him anymore.
You are right that they need to find a rookie QB; unfortunately, I don’t think there is one in this draft. So you’ll need a guy for 2-3 years, and it’s not a smart move to give up picks to trade for a stop gap which is what Baker & Jimmy G would be

Good point. Baker is a head case as well. At least he has accomplished something though like winning the first Cleveland Browns playoff game in 30 years.

Watson is borderline generational (is, depending on who you ask) so of course you would go for him if he is available and you current QB is not under contract.

Everyone in the browns organization hates baker and have called him childish.
His work ethic has come into question multiple times. None of his teammates have stood up for him.
All of jameis' teammates love him. He works hard and wants to be here. Baker probably isn't a better qb than baker.
