re: So why did we overpay Etienne so much?

For my entertainment, I do enjoy the hypocrisy of the board. Last year when I criticized the Vele trade and caught shite, kinda like in this thread, and said for 30 picks sooner we could have traded and got a receiver entering his prime with true #1 ability instead of a 28 year old 3/4 receiver.
Pickens only cost 4 million last year and will count 27 this year. So basically two years of play at 31 million. I still get shite when pointing this out by other posters about how cap strapped we are and couldn’t afford Pickens, so the Vele trade was still a much better trade.
But then we go and overpay for a running back and currently have two making top ten salaries for the position.
And then some justify it by saying in three years the contract will look much better lol. If you have to use that for a justification, it’s kinda a bad deal.

Yeah, I agree, total overreach in signing Etienne by Loomis and co., I don't know what he was thinking of. You have an elite RB on the team in Kendre Miller imo if you give him enough carries, but they've used this kid all wrong since they've had him causing him to get stupid injuries that are serious. Using him to return kickoffs, I mean what the hell, you can use a scrub WR for that. In the limited time I saw Kendre Miller in there at RB you could see the elite explosion in him hitting holes and bursting through them like Alvin Kamara used to do. Alvin Kamara is a descending RB now, but it's Kendre Miller's time now to shine if you use him correctly and stop getting the man hurt before you end his career before it even starts. It was a waste of time to bring in Etienne because now he'll be taking away carries from Kendre Miller. Smh

Miller has averaged 7 games played a year

Yeaah, because like said they have him doing dumb shite like returning kickoffs and getting hurt doing that dumb shite. Lol The man is a RB!

This board is amazing. His career YPC is 3.9.

Look you can't help that injuries happen, it's football, but once he's healthy you don't use him to return kicks knowing he may get hurt again.

You don't think Kendre Miller has elite ability?? Yeah, you people are amazing! The man hasn't been on the field enough idiot, you throw out a stat like that's supposed to mean something. Lol

I just want Miller to be healthy all 20 games
Posted on 3/12/26 at 12:13 pm to goatmilker
Yeah, I wanna see what he can do with a full seasons production. Getting the ball like a top RB.

Or, instead of blaming the team, maybe he just isn't built to be an NFL player?
Dec '22: MCL sprain
*misses rookie minicamp*
Aug '23: knee sprain
Aug '23: hamstring pull, misses 2 games
Nov '23: ankle injury, misses 7 games
July '24: hamstring pull, misses 5 games
Oct. '24: hamstring pull, misses 4 games
Dec. 24: concussion, misses 1 game
Oct '25: ACL tear, misses 10 games

What about in 2024 when Miller got hurt during individual drills on the first day of training camp in 2024?
Was that dumb shite?
Miller might be incredibly talent but just can't hold up. It happens. Look at Arian Foster - was a great RB but eventually he just couldn't stay healthy.

1) The best ability is availability.
2) Your argument cuts against you. If you're arguing the sample size is too small so people's opinions are ill-informed, wouldn't it also make your opinion on the other end of the spectrum ill-informed as well?
3) Most of his significant injuries have not come playing special teams. They've happened either in preseason camp or on plays where he was at running back.

Miller is lucky to even have a roster spot. I think he’s talented but he’s done nothing to warrant the kind of confidence you are giving him.

Give me Estime > Miller
I'd say Kendre is the most likely RB to get traded now. Keep AK for another year and throw Estime into the lineups.
Etienne/ AK/ Estime/ Neal is strong arse group

Kendre Miller hasn't shown to be the caliber of player that you "protect" from injury by holding him on special teams. It's nothing personal against the guy. He can't stay healthy, lots of guys have trouble staying healthy in the league.

You can't hold these injuries against Miller because of that 1 kickoff he returned in week 8 of 2024

And not fitting our rebuild at all. How much will he cost after that with doubs getting 70 mil for 3 years lol. You are so shortsighted.

Which is still pennies compared to cap impact on a player like pickens. Especially when we have several other needs.
You are clueless as always.
