So Sean wanted to be Miami’s coach and have Brady be his QB and part owner.

It’s all becoming clear now. Instead of bringing him to New Orleans when he left the Pats and just telling Drew a year earlier than what he retired he seems to have formulated his plan B. Now Armstead is in Miami, a Sean guy, and Brady is a free agent after this year. So Sean can be on tv for a year and they can revisit this whole situation next year. I’ve always been the staunchest Payton supporter but after 16 years he doesn’t want to be a part of the post Drew era then ok let’s get some draft capital for him that will take us into the next Saints football era. He will still have 3 years on his deal with us so Miami will have to pay up to get him. Two 1st and a 3rd is what I would ask and since it would be Sean and Brady with a revamped OL and Tyreke Hill at WR that’s not a big ask since the odds are those 1st round picks would end up being in the mid 20s range. It at least replaces the 1st you lost in the Philly trade plus adds one more. It would give you the draft capital to move up and take who they think is the QB of the future.

Sean is going to Dallas.

All the other stuff aside, we didn't lose a first in the Philly trade. We still came out with 2 1st (gave 2 and got 2). What we lost was a 2nd and a 3rd. I think the 2nd is in 2024 though so that helps ease the loss of picks.

No. Miami tried to get Payton while he was with the Saints. He decided to go commercial.
Brady wasn't in discussions.
Sean isn't going to the Dolphins.

I know they always phrased those trades wrong with the first round picks.
You do not lose a first round pick, you have 2 this year. Now you did lose a 2nd round next year to do it.

Who gives a shite .. the guy was here for a decade and a half and we got one super bowl + a bunch of playoff chokes
He's a worse coach than Mike Tomlin

Name a coach you'd rather have right now. Because the Saints aren't going to have the same success they did in the past 16 years. Worse than Tomlin. You're a joke.

I think we could find a coach capable of producing four 7-9 seasons.
I think it would be difficult to find a coach capable of being suspended for an entire season
And getting others suspended also.
I also think it would be difficult to find a coach that would put on such a bullshite charade about retiring
When he had absolutely zero intentions on retiring.
The Miami deal was real.
And that’s not the only team he negotiated with since his “retirement”.

Controversial, but ultimately true

Deep down, you know what I’m saying is true and factual.
Wouldn’t we all love another marathon press conference with the tears and other bullshite.
Maybe he should think about an acting career or politics.

You’re such a butt hurt idiot when it comes to Payton.

I don't give a shite what Sean tried to do. Sean needs to find a coaching job next year so we can get our 2 1st rounders.

Would love to rape some GM with picks tbh if CSP wants to coach in year or two.

My take is that Peyton was consistently a top 5 coach while at the same time heavily overrated. He had a penchant for choking or making irrational frustrated decisions at the most inappropriate time
