Let's talk possible destinations

Colts- They seem all in on the tank to get a top QB prospect, so doubt they're giving that up for Payton. Plus irsay seems more erratic than usual, I doubt Payton wants any part of that organization.

Panthers- Similar to the Colts, they need the pick for a QB. They do have an owner that's probably willing to pay Sean ungodly amounts of money,

Cardinals- Its only a matter of when for Kliff at this point. They've got a dynamic QB in place, the rest of the roster is pretty so so. I think they'd be willing to pony up the compensation to pair, ideally they miss the playoffs so its a decent pick.

Chargers- For obvious reasons this seems to be spot Sean covets. I'm just not sure Spanos is willing to give up the compensation and pay Payton a ton of money.

Cowboys- Barring a collapse they should make the playoffs. Jerry likely only cans Mccarthy if they're one and done in a game the offense flounders in.

Broncos -Hackett should be out but they have nothing to offer us.

Texans- Can't see Payton wanting anything to do with that dysfunctional franchise.

In short....I'm hoping for our sake its the Cardinals.

Payton already said through his mouthpiece Glazer that he has no interest in the Panthers.

Colts have no QB and what they would give up for CSP would leave them without ability to get one.

Cardinals and Chargers make the most sense.

Even if the Cowboys make the playoffs, I could still see the Cowboys doing it if they don't make it out of the first round.

He did make a comment during Manning Cast about him and Lamar both being free agents. May try to work a package deal to go to a team needing a QB and has cap space to land Lamar.

And just to fuel the conspiracy theorists: What if Loomis had a deal with Payton that Payton would come back if they could land Watson and that's why they promoted from within and kept as much of the coaching staff intact as possible?

I'd say there's a 0.00000000001% chance Baltimore is letting Lamar go anywhere

Lamar is going to get franchise tagged. He isn't going anywhere.

Saints fans are going to be very disappointed in the Payton compensation.

I'd agree with next year, but they may eventually have to let him walk. He wants a contract similar to Watson's (price & guarantees) and Balt is saying they won't do it.

the Chargers defense hasn't gotten much better and that's with them bringing in impactful players to help out.

they have a tough stretch of games coming up so I'm interested to see how thaT unfolds.

The Rams made their splash with a super bowl win out there. I mean if this guy is serious about winning, he should make the move, but I know what you are saying.

Chargers would be a fitting switch as I think they're the only team that has shittier injury luck than we do

LOL, sorry. I'm anticipating the Saints get something along the lines of a 4th-round pick.

Look, I don't care if Payton wants Taysom Hill to take over as the starter, as long as Coach Payton comes back to the Saints, my body is ready.

Andy Reid could retire. Payton would be beating down the door to coach Mahomes. Green Bay could open up if they completely fall apart. He would be interested in the Packers. The obvious spot is the Chargers but I don't think you are going to see him reach to go somewhere.

It will be better than that but it won't be these pie in the sky ideas people on here have.

I'm sure we have someone on our roster who can net a 7th round pick, you know Loomis will give Payton away

How is Sean a free agent?
