If Loomis or Ireland allow it to get to Monday, I'm thinking both of them had better take up residence in either FLorida or Dallas because they won't be safe anywhere from Pensacola to Lake Charles

I can't believe that they are willing to play a game of chicken with Brees.

If Brees leaves we will trade up for Baker Mayfield and ride that rookie contract to a Super Bowl

Part of me speculates that maybe Drew is waiting to know what the potential FA's are and their target value so he can work the contract a certain way to make sure they get signed as well.

I hope.

Would have to give up this and next years top 100 picks to get up to where you can be certain to get one of the top 3.

I’d go hard after cousins.

Agree. While I definitely defer to the coaching staff who see D.B. every day, and whether he has the ability to continue to make the throws we need in our OFF....Cousins would be my #1 choice in a scenario with no D.B. The guy is bigger, stronger, completes over 65% of his passes, and is in the prime of his career. IF we don't re-sign D.B. (which I believe is unlikely), signing Cousins keeps the SP Offense rolling for years to come.

Agree, but do other teams actually waste their time talking to a player they know they have no shot at signing?

If Brees hits free agency, then any team with the cap space has a legitimate shot.

LOL no. The deal will be announced the second it's done, regardless of the day or time.

Brees said he ain't leaving. No worries

I have no stress that we aren't going to re-sign him, but this doesn't mean anything.

This is all status quo. Loomis always waits till most fans are ready to shite their pants before announcing a new Brees deal.
