so for the first two years I was out of the military I watched NFL network on a loop...non stop. I have my reasons.

anyway, I immediately found myself laughing at LaConfora especially considering mike Lombardi and adam schefter were on the set

Lombardi, very good at speculation and occasionally would break something

Schefter would break everything

then la confora would speculate but be vague as to pass it off as inside info.

It was hysterical

We are bing mentioned by this moron because we have so many picks. Every "sports analyst" in the business thinks we are tanking for a rebuild because we traded a superstar, but they haven't looked at the team to know that our moves have the potential to make us a much better team going forward. We could have been pretty good with Brees and Graham for the next few years. With all the moves, we can be great if we knock 3-4 picks out of the park and hit on another 2-3.

If we trade up for Mariota, I will almost certainly light something on fire.

What I've read is the defense is being strengthened/re-built.

Offense wins games.. Defense wins championships.

Remember the defensive squad from the 2009 team? Them boys swarmed to the ball. I haven't seen that from this defense in a couple of years.

This rumor is about as good as trading Brees to Tampa Bay to get Jameis Winston.

I'm sure the Saints are looking to the future for a QB, I just don't think it'll be in this draft or any draft. The QB they could be looking for could already be in the league just sitting on the sidelines.

I agree.

The Saints absolutely want two QBs to be drafted before 13. It wouldn't surprise me if that was a part of any "leak" coming out of the Saints offices.

Not that I want to trade up, but I kinda saw this coming. I mean, we've done it in the past. Seems like Payton lines moving up more than he likes moving back. Plus, why would we acquire more picks if we know we're gonna have trouble making cap space to sign them all? Probably because Payton and Loomis never planned to use them all. They planned to use them to move up

To be clear, I don't necessarily think they'll actually move up to #2 or at all in the first round. But I do expect them to move up at least once at some point in the draft.

Supposedly in order to draft Mariotta.

I'd give up a third to move up to the early 20s. I think it'd be a brilliant move this year.

i can't make up my mind on Randy Gregory. Seems like a typical 4-3 DE but he's athletic enough to play anywhere really.

Supposedly in order to draft Mariotta. It just sounds ridiculous.

And it pretty much makes all the moves we've made this offseason just pointless.

This would easily be worth it if you were convinced you had a future pro bowler lined up. I highly doubt this is the case with Mariotta.

little bit of horseshite to chew on...

Even if we traded half a farm to get Mariotta now, drew plays 1 year, Mariotta learns and sits.

Next year, we trade Drew w/ one last year on deal for most of that same farm we traded to get Mariotta. So basically we're exchanging Drew's last year and future possible contract extension of 22 plus million a year for Mariotta's future....

Minus our current farm though, what real reason do we have to keep Drew. We're not a deep playoff roster without some reinforcements. Just to teach his understudy?

Is there anything the Eagles have that we want? Because the only way I see us taking Mariotta is to trade rape Philly.

true, to make an honest run this yr we do need to utilize every pick to add weapons and core guys to both sides of the ball. We're deep in some areas but obviously thin in others (as we stand now). We usually enter a draft with very few holes.

what if they traded their 1st next year with the two 3rd rounders this year for another 1st in this years draft. Take a G, LB, and WR/TE all in the first round this year!!! I'd actually be ok with that

Stay away from ESPN and other national outlets. Their "experts" all think we got raped.

Yep. Offense and Defense is a good recipe as well

What that D was is cause turnovers. Since, we have been at the bottom of the league in TO margin. Not a good trend for continued success.

Mariota will fall to at least 6. Why move to 2? Sounds like more Leonard Williams than Mariota
