WTF you talking about? TS is not “holding out”. He’s a second round pick—his money is his money—they are negotiating the guaranteed portion of the money. He’s been at every practice, and he will continue to be at practice.

The first two picks of the 2nd rd got their contracts fully guaranteed so now the agents for a bunch of the 2nd rders are trying to treat that as precedent and get their client's more guaranteed money. The Saints would be incredibly stupid to agree to it since with or without Shough there's a good chance we'll be in position to draft a qb high in the 1st next year.

If you think this guy is your starter or a quality backup...locking in a NFL QB at 4 years and a tick over 2 million a year...who gives a shite about the guarantees
Either he is your starter, this years backup, or the guy that takes you to the top of the draft next year. They have time but this isnt something you let linger beyond the start of training camp

It’s also not just about this year. The precedent is now set for the top picks, Cleveland & Houston in the 2nd round getting guaranteed money going forward. If the other teams also give in, then you can expect the entire 2nd round to get guarantees next year. Few years down the road you’ll start seeing 3rd rounders getting guarantees…
