On another note, seeing as he's visiting 10+ teams, I'm betting his price tag is pretty high.
No one knows anything about salary cap bcs of the CBA bs going on.

How is touring Dallas going to help us??
(sorry, terrible. I'll go die now)

We were on the same page as far as bad comedy goes

Obviously Payton will include a tour of his mandeville home as a packaged deal with his contract to avoid those nasty realtor commissions.

Which one--New Orleans or Dallas?

would love to see him play for a winning team, of which I don't think he's done too much in his career. Didn't read the first page but any idea how much this guy would go for? Def need helping stopping the run.. 17th in the league in that category last year. He's never been in the playoffs

Well no one would trade anything for him last season. If I had access to a legit breakdown of his old contract I could give you a very specific ceiling of what he'd get, but Rotoworld took it down as soon as he was cut. If I had to guess, I'd say 4 years, $17m. Now that he's outright said he wants to play in Houston, with their desperate need for front 4 help to take pressure off of Williams, I'd say it's all a moot point right now.

nola.com reported it-
Rogers signed a reported six-year, $42 million with the Browns in 2008 after they traded a third-round draft pick and cornerback Leigh Bodden to Detroit to acquire him.
Rogers reportedly was due a $5.5 million salary in 2011, with a $500,000 roster bonus. That was the main reason he was one of six veterans released last week by the Browns, who are rebuilding under new coach Pat Shurmur. But it wasn't the only reason.
Rogers became more of a role player in 2011, despite his $6.9 million salary. He started only one game. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the team was weary of Rogers' attitude and unwillingness to practice. He often was limited in practice with ankle and hip injuries, although he played in 15 games.
"Shaun's a different cat," Browns General Manager Tom Heckert said, according to the Plain Dealer. "Shaun's whole thing -- and he's stated a million times -- is that he's never been on a team that's any good. Every team he's ever been on has been bad. Right or wrong, I think it's taken a toll on him."
The best team Rogers has played for was the 2007 Lions, who finished 7-9.
"I think if he went to a good team, things might change. I don't know," Heckert said.
The Saints, obviously, would fit that bill. And they could use a player with Rogers' talent in the middle of their defensive front.

I think he pretty much fits the need as far as what kinda role he plays. Whether he has enough gas left or could be signed for a cap friendly enough amount I have full confidence in PayLoom to accomplish.

“I’m anxious to meet with him,’’ Saints Coach Sean Payton told NewOrleans.Com on Wednesday night. “He’s got some good tape out there, and he’s a guy who is eligible to sign right now. He can play nose tackle or he can play the 3 and can help in the D-line rotation. He played real well against us this year.
“More than anything else, we get a chance to meet with him and see where he’s at in his career. With the potential limitations in free agency right now, this gives us a chance to meet and visit with him. The key is finding the right fit for him.’’

that's a little more out there than the usual coachspeak Payton engages in

gotta think he would have a slight bump in productivity from the excitement/harder work of playing for a contender
Posted on 2/17/11 at 11:53 pm to St Augustine
that seems to be the consensus on him... if you spent your career in the worst Detroit years then Cleveland you might wanna give in a few bucks to be on a real winner.
It would be a good score as far as just filling a spot and making draft day all the easier too. There won't be too many opportunities like that.

Here's a good article about his actual production. If he's motivated, he's about as good as it gets... LINK

Loomis:
"Good visit," said Loomis, who described it as "fact finding for both sides at this point."
LINK
I'm liking the possibility of this happening. After his KC visit he tweeted "Ya never know I might be back". After the visit here he hasn't tweeted at all.
He'll definitely take advantage of being able to be signed before 03/04.

a few things here:
1. he played under rob ryan in cleveland. gregg and buddy ryan are like brothers. so there's a mutual connection with rodgers there
2. he's from houston and spent most of his career north of the mason dixon. it's time to come home boy
3. texans secondary is in shambles. even if he is the missing peice to their front 7 they're still fricked. he may be the missing piece to the entire DEFENSE here
and 4 and most important
signing shaun rodgers would be huge damage control for the saints and would get sean paytons name off the front pages.

so is that saying he might be back to KC, also what do I infer about his silence on the Saints?

He has played 7 games in the last two years.

Huh? He's played in 26 in the past two years after starting 32 straight.

I think he's referring to Kris Jenkins.
