Last week, the Saints emailed me my season ticket holder survey. There’s a lot of questions about the game day experience, promotions, benefits, etc. But this year, they asked about the direction of the team and the organization, in the context of how you valued your season tickets. There was also a comment section to expand on answers. I imagine they’re going to get some pretty interesting comments.

I have four season tickets, two in the 500s right on 50 and two in the lower corner. I’ve had them since 2006. I stated that I will not renew at least one pair, and maybe both. The reason is simple - the team sucks and it makes no sense to pay over $6K a season to watch the result of management’s poor decisions (particularly coaching staff). In my case, I have to travel in, so I can only get to four or five games. I usually give remaining tickets to family members still in Louisiana as either birthday or early Christmas presents. But not this year. For the Jacksonville game, I literally could not give tickets away to anybody I knew, friends or family. Nobody wanted them (and I stated that in survey). I Sold tickets for about 20% of face value. Nobody I know wants to go to the Giants game, so I will be lucky to sell them at 30% of face value. You cannot expect people to pay to watch a crap product; they won’t even go for free.

Because of what’s already invested, current season ticket holders will go to games they already paid for. I will still go to CAR and probably ATL. But season ticket holders can fill out the survey and indicate that they’re not renewing. I just hope someone in Saints organization cares enough to actually read the damn thing.

I couldn't imagine paying $250 a seat for Saints tickets. Keep that crap.

Dumped my four in the off-season seeing the writing already on the wall. That "waiting list" is going to turn into a beg fest (see The Pelicans) in a few years. I figured I'll be able to get back in whenever I want later once we really suck.

That was sort of my thinking. My other idea was to move my tickets to the cheapest tickets available in the dome for the crappy years, and then move sections when it looks like there might be a glimmer of hope. In my case, the problem with that idea is that I don’t want to fly to New Orleans to watch a crappy team in the worst seats I could find. I’d rather just cancel and start again at some point in the future, when it looks like the team has a direction again.

Went to the Jags game earlier in the year.

They had a strong showing for a Thursday game.

Talking all kinds of shite to which they got no responses.

The older LC was just happy to have an elusive flask that got by security. The 634 section fans that night were funny as hell. I swear by the way they talk that some of them post here

$6K for season tickets? Lunacy. Money could be very well spent elsewhere on something tangible.

I’m pretty sure we are done. I pay exorbitant prices to park so I don’t come back to my windows bashed in. The older I get, the less tolerant I am to paying $8 for a soft drink and having to wait 15 minutes for the privilege. Also the team sucks and will not get better because Gayle won’t make the tough decisions.

I’m not trying to be a jerk here, but to say it’s lunacy is relative to perspective. It’s also relative to income. It’s what you value the experience to be and what you can afford. In my case, travel and time is a much bigger cost than the tickets. I’m not saying I disagree with the thought that you could (or should) buy something tangible with $6K. I’m also not downplaying what $6K can buy. It may be lunacy from your perspective but not from mine as our circumstances and perspectives are different. My point was it could be $600 or $6000 (and there are people paying way more than the $1500/seat average I’m paying for) - any money spent to watch this product is a waste.

I’d definitely get rid of them. This trash organization should have been preparing for a rebuild as soon as it was apparent Drew’s noodle arm couldn’t throw it 20 yards down the field. We’re in for years of being crap. If you enjoy watching the shitshow enough to wait it out hoping for a turn in 5 years or so then go ahead and keep them. But it’s honestly probably going to be longer than 5.

Honestly- I appreciate your and other posters’ perspective on this. Particularly hearing how they don’t regret cancelling. Not being able to give them away as gifts has been pretty eye-opening.

I feel blessed that I decided to buy season tickets in 2006 after we drafted Reggie Bush. Kept them for 17 years, but dumped them this season because of Dennis Allen. So glad that I did.

Hundreds of Millions of our dollars (tax payers) to remodel the Superdome not to make our personal experience as customers a better value but to maximize revenue for corporate deals.

Additionally, if you refuse to pay the one variable cost in the league, more than $4M a year to the leader of a payroll (Head Coach) of $225m then you don’t get my $2k a year for season tickets any more.

R.I.P. My Season Tickets (2006 - 2023).

I got the same call.
I gave them high marks for friendliness and efficacy of the office staff and dome employees.
I made it clear that my primary and overriding concern was seeing a winning product on the field, and that I cared little for the other noisy crap that goes on during the games.

Have four tickets in the lower plaza and we will for sure not be renewing this year. These tickets have been around since the 1970s. unfortunately, it appears that the team will be crappy for a number of years to come so why spend all this money for a weak product. Also, it is getting harder to sell your tickets because the prices have gone up so much. Not to mention that the cost of food and drink in the dome is stupid high.

Had mine since 2004. Only missed 3 home games between 2006-2019. Also went to one or two road games each season from 2006-2019 and 2022. I was only picked for one game during the Covid season. Only went to one game in 2021, two home games in 2022, and only went to the preseason game against Houston so far this year.

I think I'll be giving up my tickets for next season and just picking up tickets on Seatgeek for the one or two games I can go to.
