Sean Payton's overzealous challenges, poor decisions regarding field goals (going for it on 4th down), and going for two when not needed will likely cost the Saints another game this year. It already cost them at Dallas, and almost did tonight. Two poor decisions tonight - not kicking the extra point and the poor decision to challenge were totally unnecessary. His ego is out of control.

I agreed with the challenge. I also think we shoulda kicked the PAT

edit: looks like I was wrong to think this way...

12-2, best record in the league. 7-1 on the road.

Christ almighty, tell your wife’s boyfriend to sign on and post up something worth reading. Meanwhile lay off of the soy.

Won’t argue other points, but 2 point conversion was the correct call.

They’re 12-2, 2 games to go. You’re running out of time, Eeyore.

This board loves to turn on Payton. I mean frick the guy isn’t infallible but some can’t wait to shite on him. He’s one of the best offensive coaches in the game, we’ve lost two fricking games this year, and should finish as the 1 seed... kindly shut the frick up.

This is the first time in NFL history we have the best record in the league all by ourselves...

Watson caught the ball and took two steps before the ball was punched out. The offense was desperate for a big play at that point, too. Not sure why you wouldn't challenge.

Going for 2 is at least debatable. Considering the Panthers offense was playing abysmally and they had a backup kicker, I can see the argument for the PAT.

I wouldn't call either decision poor or unnecessary though.

These threads are never met with the counterfactual of “Sean’s hubris can win the Saints a big game this year”

It says to me that those people haven't watched football for that long. To do what the Saints have done so far going 12-2 with a 10 game winning streak between their only losses is hard, like really hard to do in the NFL. It's not some accident. The Rams and Chiefs aren't dominating teams like they were earlier this year. The Chiefs have lost 2 out of their last 4. In their last two wins they beat the Raiders by only 7 and gave up 33 points and beat the Ravens by a field goal. The Bears, who so many are afraid of now, lost to the sorry arse Giants recently. There are no flawless teams out there.

2 pt try was the right call. However sean has always sucked at challenges for whatever reason. Seems to not challenge when he should and challenge when he shouldn’t. With that said I’ll gladly take 12-2
