Maybe during the regular season. The crowd began cheering, or at least my section did, as soon as the QB got in the huddle.

I wasn't there last week, but 646 is always loud AF.

Sure, it's a little louder on 3rd down and pre-snap, but 646 brings it all game.

Trust me this detail isn't lost on Allen. I expect a lot of base alignment pre snap and the noise to really get to them. Another thing I've noticed is the WRs looking to sidelines for adjustments similar to college teams. That tells me that Goff hasn't mastered communicating audibles to his skill players.

Most people have Monday off for MLK day. That seems like a good time to rest.

Fans will be loud as hell the entire time so good luck getting them to the line of scrimmage early and being able to hear!

This would definitely explain Goff's split in play at home vs on the road. Noise on the road at any venue is going to make this strategy more difficult. Goff's mistakes on the road probably happens when McVay isn't able to get the adjustments in before the 15 second mark & Goff has to make decisions for himself.

This game is being won or lost as we speak. It's going to be up to Dennis Allen to come up with a strategy to show one alignment & coverage presnap then have the defense QUICKLY jump into another look once Goff gives audibles by hand signals. This doesn't have to occur on every play though. Just enough plays to where it throws the Rams offense off a bit. 3rd down is where you want to see it used the most.

On the other side of the ball, Payton & offensive line coach Dan Roushar are going to have to come up with a plan so that Andrus Peat isn't matched up one on one with Suh or Donald especially in crucial passing situations like 3rd & long. Those are the two keys to winning this game & outcome will be decided by the game plan put together by the coaching staff.

This may be the game to have a headset malfunction. Then neither team can use them.

this would be absolutely amazing

1st Rams drive of the game... CSP goes to Vinovich... "hey my defensive coach's headset is down right now... we're trying to get it fixed but it's not working"

Goff was at home, got pressured ONCE the whole game, they knew exactly what the Cowboys' Dline was going to do, and he still only put up 15/28 (53.6%), 186, no tds, and a 74.4 QB rating (despite not throwing a pick).

Foles didn't exactly have great games against us or Chi, but he was on the road in two very tough, very different environments and still played better overall than Goff did.

Reid,

I'd be surprised if Mahomes has that freedom right now.

He didn't have a TD. What is interesting is neither did Mahomes in his game (but that is a stat for next week).

The best qb rating thus far has been the two geriatric qbs.

Not surprised.

All mcvay has to do then is bring those ridiculous posters with symbols out there and he can communicate that way. Or is that not legal?

More often than not, he’s catching the snap, faking a handoff and throwing to a wide-open receiver in the vacant areas of the field.

Not something to knock Goff about, Brees has been hitting wide open receivers for years and years. It's a credit to the coaching scheme and wide receivers to get open, but it's still the QBs job to get them the ball.

Yeah that's my bad. I think I saw the TD Dak threw, tabbed over to the Rams box score, and for whatever reason had the 1 TD still in my head.

Good question.

I know it's common in college football but off-hand I don't recall seeing it in an NFL game.
