Sean McVay and Andy Reid are bad coaches

I’ll go ahead and say it because they’re completely mismanaging their teams...
The Saints imo have found the perfect formula for today’s NFL, with a balanced offense, protect the ball, control time of possession, don’t give up big plays on defense and create turnovers.
The Rams and Chiefs have the players to be able to do what we’re doing, yet they’d rather run and gun on offense, turning the ball over and allowing too many big plays on D.
If Sean and Drew wanted to score 100, we probably could get close, but we’d have a bunch of turnovers, and our defense would be absolutely gassed.

If the chiefs protect the ball tonight and control the clock they win this game. McCvay’s dumb arse threw the ball 3 times in a row to give the chiefs the ball back.
It’s true We can score like this if we wanted to, but we decided to control games and play more “defense,” offensively. It’s not conservative, it’s smart.
But these coaches aren’t terrible. Both of these offenses are incredible, but they aren’t helping their defenses.

CSP went through this evolution a few years ago. He tried the outscore and pray method in a number of seasons. He learned that you have to run the ball. His best teams are/were top 10 rushing offenses to go along with. Top 5 passing offense. He just kept trying to build a D that would blitz all of the time to try and force TOs. This year, they have played safer and the leads from the offense is forcing opponents to turn it over.

I agree Mcvay completely mismanaged the end of the game. Andy Reid is a top 5 coach in the league, I’m my opinion.

when things are going are good we can all agree.
but what about a few years ago when were coughing up 7-9 records and we all knew the Saints could do better.
i'm glad we are winning.
but i've seen the browns hail mary, Vernon Davis, Diggs, ETc. I'm cautiously optimistic at best.
I want to see the Saints win it all again.
is that so much to ask?

McVay is 2006 CSP calling double reverses to run out the clock.

Well, IMO, this has been known by every coach at every level for a decade or six.

Neither McVay nor Reid are bad coaches.

You would think that Gurley and Hunt were fricking scrubs the way that they refused to hand them the ball at the end.

Sean McVay is a young, brilliant mind and the Rams are lucky to have him.
Andy Reid is what he is. Great regular season coach, but seems to always blow the big games.

Yeah I didn't like how both teams abandoned the run early in the game even though they were having decent success.

This
And I think this is Sean’s best coaching season.
Not many boneheaded play calls. :)

That clock management by McVay at the end of the game was ATROCIOUS.
I was hoping that Mahomes would lead the Chiefs to a field goal, at least, with that last minute so McVay would receive the public lashing he deserves, but alas it was not to be.
I see some media folks calling this the greatest regular season game ever. I saw the whole thing as ATROCIOUS, to be frank.
How many times am I allowed to say ATROCIOUS in one post? Is there a board rule?

Week to week they may not be bad coaches, but the 100% were last night.
Two of the top backs in the league and both had under 15ish carries. Neither tried to hold the lead despite both backs averaging over 4.5-5 ypc.
Chiefs could have run clock once they got first and goal but instead scored on the first play with a pass instead of running.
Rams got the lead and then a pick and then PASSED THE BALL instead of trying to run it out. They were bailed out by Mahomes 5th turnover of the night and 2nd pick on back to back drives.

There was a ton of time left and KC had all 3 timeouts left, it was 2nd down. If the Rams run 3 straight times then punt, giving KC enough time and KC goes down and scores, we'd be absolutely crushing the Rams for not playing to win in a game where both teams scored 50+ and playing to punt the ball to the defense.

I have no issue with what McVay was trying to do at the end. Chiefs had 3 TOs and was playing incredible on offense, at least as far as moving the ball and scoring. His offense was playing well also and one first down wins the game or at least makes it where there is probably less than 25 seconds in the game. 3 straight running plays and punting still gives the Chiefs too much time and all they need is a FG to tie. Reid hasn't won a SB but is still one hell of a coach himself. The key is getting to the playoffs and hope to get hot, Reid is going to consistently get his team in the playoffs, shite ton of coaches can't even do that.

You run twice and then pass on third of you are that scared. Or you run pass plays that are basically extended hand offs.
