Yeah there really is no idea what he was asking for but he views himself as the best slot corner so I’m assuming he wanted to be paid like one.

More so he wants to play and be paid like a starting safety, and the eagles are going to do that.

Saints were prepared for him to walk in free agency. Now we got something for a player who we weren't paying and was going to leave. Smart move but I hope the compensation is good.

selected him the fourth, so I would hope they could get at least above that for ROI

Eagles are our reverse Chargers. Everyone we give them lights it up for them.

OK so we sacrifice Marcus Williams and CGJ to sign Marcus Maye and Tyran Mathieu? While eating cap hits from Malcolm Jenkins.

There is mishandling cap and there is malpractice. Our safety position has been gutted by complete failure and mismanagement.

Oh and let me add, Taysom Hill has cap hits of $7.26 M in 2021 and $5.125M in 2022. Next year it rises to $13.925M.

You can't sign them all, but we completely fricked ourselves with utterly stupid acquisitions and extensions for meddling (or in Hill's case, downright bad) players

I understand that but I'd like to know the comp, if its just a mid rounder I'd have preferred to just keep him this season and let him walk

Exactly. He'd get a 4th at worst as a comp pick b/c he's going to sign a huge extension. We'd likely get a 3rd.

But muh LSU players! the fans exclaimed

Maybe we’d have the money and position for him if we hadn’t signed Mathieu

The eagles are desperate for safety help, this is a 2nd I’d bet

with just alittle work, you may be a better GM than Mike Mayok with your opinions

We would get that compensation if he left via FA anyway. 4th at worst and likely a 3rd.

I don't think it's either/or...I'm starting to see that the Saints were not going to be able to pay him what he wanted, so they at least will get something for him. I hate losing this guy...I loved his play style.

Do you have anything of actual substance to respond with?

Look at the cap hits of Jenkins, Hill, etc. and the young talent we lost because of that.

Malcom Jenkins is taking up almost $4M of our 2022 cap.
