So I'm guessing he is Taysom's backup. So if Brees gets hurt Taysom goes to QB strictly and Stevens plays the Hill role.

I mean everyone defended getting rid of all the picks for a TE nobody cares about, now defend this lmao

You’re melting over 6th and 7th round picks. Literally 98% of these players are out the league in two years.

But OMG Tom Brady was a 6th rounder!!!

I actually don’t understand this pick. Look forward to seeing what the front office says.

The Saints had Tommy Stevens send a video of him running routes.

Interesting. I have a feeling we don’t hold on to Taysom. He wants more money than he’s worth, plus he is pretty old himself.

I think Tommy is a potential Taysom replacement

When new Saints QB Tommy Stevens started experimenting in more of a versatile role as a young player at Penn State, Joe Brady was working there as a graduate assistant coming up with some of the wrinkles.

Bruh Saints are fricking dumb. Trade for a Miss State QB that would likely be a UDFA

Yeah, we could have used that next year post Brees to trade up

I'd be willing to bet the Saints have the least amount of draft picks since Sean Payton has taken over

Seems more similar to a Jalen Hurts type athletic profile.

This guy is basically Taysom Hill "Insurance". Very similar build, running ability, etc. Sean must like his dual-threat ability. Doesn't look to be a "natural" thrower, but does put the ball where it needs to be.

Penn St. especially used him a lot like the Saints have used Taysom --- Lined up in backfield, slot receiver, running sweeps, halfback passes, etc. If these were the specific skill sets that Sean wanted, I can understand why they didn't want to chance getting Stevens via the UDFA route.

Taysum is a much better thrower than this idiot
