Mickey got bent over again.

Did I do that right?

Decent backup OT
Plays the rest of the line but is really bad at the other spots.

Essentially swapped 6th and 7th round picks in 2028, very far from now. This is essentially nothing

When people say it was “only” the 40th pick, it was “only” a 4th rd pick, this is the throwaway pick compensation they are imagining those to be

Yeah, can’t believe they’re throwing away the future by giving up a 6th rounder and getting a player and a 7th back.

It's a great thing only 8% of 4th rounders ever even become starters in the league. How irresponsible of us to throw away an 8% chance of a starter, or 20% chance of a guy actually playing out his contract vs someone who can come in right away and fill a role we were missing and has shown some decent production at the nfl level.

The shame.

I’m thinking Mike McCarthy had some good things to say about Richards, and this move was pushed by Moore.

Gave up esentially nothing to make sure they have a playable guy to backup one of the weakest positions. This is a great trade, regardless of how good he winds up being.

Yeah at that price it’s almost like they were maybe going to cut him and we were just trying to get to the front of the line.

Mickey bent over a barrel giving up a 6th when he could have kept that to pick up 2028's version of Brady, AB84, Jason Kelce, Terrel Davis...

From a cowboy beat writer. Addresses a need nonetheless

Of course. It’s a 6 for 7 3 years in the future. Pretty sure that’s the absolute lowest compensation that can be given. But the retards on this board will downvote the obvious anyway.

We only say that because we are smarter than you. We (and PFF) know a 4th round pick has maybe a 1 in 10 chance of being decent, vs. a player like Vele who is already playing well.

You are very smart. We’ve been waiting for someone o bring the risky 4th rd pick theory to light

We should trade every pick that falls past whatever arbitrary low hit rate you set forth. Because the draft isn’t inherently risky. We can’t draft first round picks with regular success, trade them too. This team doesn’t need to take a chance on youth on rookie contracts, we are just a Devaughn Vele away

We should trade every pick
It's about the value of the player you are getting in return vs the value of the pick. Any simpleton can understand that concept.

You aren't going to be able to just trade every pick you have for equal value anytime you want, but when the right opportunity comes along you take it.

Boys get Saints 2028 6th.

Saints get Richards + 2028 7th.

This is such a horrible way to look at things. Do you really think good teams look at 4th round picks this way?

How come all the good teams draft well and like draft picks? The only team that has done well with a smaller number of drafts picks is the rams and they draft exceptionally well.

I wanted verse and Braden Fiske by the way.
