Yes I approve : ))) Dennis Allen, Bieniemy are two decent candidates to interview. How did the Leftwich interview go I wonder.

I don’t see how in today’s societal climate that Bienemys past wouldn’t bring loads of unfavorable press and scrutiny.

back to back posts Andy Reid runs the offense but also Eric Bieniemy didn't make the adjustments

He doesn't run the offense or notice scheme changes/defensive trends and points it out to Andy. Two separate things bro.

This is easily one of the worst threads regarding a legit topic in ST history

I’d like the hire. Maybe with a black coach we wouldn’t get assraped by penalty flags constantly.

Bienemy would be an atrocious hire. There i a reason he has not gotten a job yet despite multiple interviews and it’s not just his sketchy history.

Guy is overrated as hell and Reid runs that offense.

I wouldn’t hate the hire - hopefully he’d keep Neilson as his DC assuming Allen is out.

I don't want Bienemy but also hope the Saints aren't just using him to increase the number of minority candidates to protect themselves if not hiring Flores and argue "if we weren't serious and the interveiws were gratuitous then why would we interview three minority candidates?"

I would rather Leftwitch if it's all about hiring a minority candidate

The ironic part, is the guy everyone on this board wants to hire, Allen, could very well also lead us back to those days. He has no inspiring head coaching resume.

Perhaps. But he is the devil you know. The Saints defense has quietly become the identity of the team and it is likely to remain the case unless the Saints can, somehow, nab a top tier QB (which is unlikely).

Could Bieniemy, Flores, etc be great? Sure. But the Saints are in a different position than most of the teams looking for new coaches. The Saints weren't terrible last season and the roster looks like it can still compete for a playoff spot...maybe more considering Brady is out of Tampa and Rodgers may be out of Green Bay.

By hiring Allen you at least feel like the defensive performance will remain constant. On the other side of the ball you have a 13 year OC that can, and has, stepped in to call plays. If the Saints were in a complete rebuild mode I'd say give a first year HC a shot. But they aren't in that spot right now.

Bieniemy is basically Pete Carmichael, with the ONLY difference being skin color. Carmichael has been the Saints OC for 13 years. In most of those seasons the Saints were among the league leaders in offense...if not the league leader. So why no clamoring for Carmichael? Because most understood it was Payton's offensive show. He was the ultimate decisionmaker and play-caller...just like Andy Reid in KC.

Where would this franchise relocate to?

Keep in mind, the NFL loves having the Super Bowl in NOLA and the SB is required to be in a city that has an NFL franchise.

Saints aren't going anywhere dumb arse.

ETA: maybe they move to the back of the division but not changing locations

Exactly! Carmichael would actually do a better job but he isn't a minority. When's the last time you heard networks talking about Carmichael getting passed over for head coaching jobs. I'm so tired of hearing about Bieniemy being passed over as if it's because of his skin color. Carmichael's been OC of the Saints for 13 seasons. It's perfectly fine to pass over him because everyone knows it's Sean's offense. Hypocrites!

Ummm except the whole 2012 season where Carmichael ran the entire thing on his own while Payton was suspended. Saints we’re 2nd in ypg and 3rd in ppg that season without Payton. Show me where Bienemy did anything like that.
