Allen is the most sensible option. You have a very good defense if you can keep everyone together, and he’s someone who understands the organization and personnel. If it was truly a rebuild situation you’d definitely be looking outside the building. I do think Glenn would be a legit candidate in that scenario too given his ties here. But Allen seems like the most logical choice based on continuity and familiarity. Thus you have the give and take of the rooney rule where you’re bringing in multiple minority candidates for interviews but then you also have the potential top candidate already in the building so all those interviews look “token”

The media will probably melt if it is allen. All while Oakland hires josh mcdaniels with hardly a peep.

It’s not like when Wade Phillips was in Dallas and you knew Jason Garrett was going to be the next coach but they still brought in Todd Bowles and Ray Sherman for interviews. With our situation and Payton’s sudden departure we’re a little more inclined to look outside the building but even after doing that, with who’s available Allen just seems like the most logical option

He doesn't run the offense or notice scheme changes/defensive trends and points it out to Andy. Two separate things bro.

So Andy Reid runs the offense, but leaves scheme recognition to EB? Come on, man. Saintsfan22 nailed it. Your logic is illogical. Just own it. You don’t like EB and move on.

If the NFL forces Saints to hire anybody other than their top candidate look for Gayle to, not relocate, but sell team.
