With Rankins possibly in doubt for the start of the season or even more, this move was necessary.

Is every free agent thread going to be hijacked into an Ingram thread? Is this what we have to look forward to?
Anyway, this seems like a solid pick-up.

I'll be honest. I don't know anything about Malcom Brown. Someone fill me in.

Will be only 25 at the start of the 2019 season. #32 pick in 2015. Decent run stuffer and can handle double teams.

He’s solid and has a ton of potential. Could definitely be a steal pick up.

run stuffing lineman who doesn't rack up stats. hustles and does his job so everyone around him can be better. good signing.

From what I read on PFF he's great against the run and not great against the pass. More of a 2 down guy instead of an every down lineman. Still fills a big position of need.

Former 1st rd pick for NE. He has played well for them but obviously didn't meet their expectations since they declined the 5th year option on him.
Edit: I see now why the Patriots didn't exercise the option for him. The cap hit would have been 7 million which was too high for them.

Went to Reddit. Every single Pats fan classifies him basically the same.
"Decent. Maybe slightly above average. He will do his job and be serviceable but won't flash anything amazing."

So New England gets a top 10 compensatory pick for losing him?
