Agreed. These guys are better than anyone we had not named Onyemata. We add Rankins or Breese, we’ll be in good shape.

He’s solid. I watch a lot of Chiefs games since they are rivals to the Bengals. Dude flashes something positive at least once a game. He’s a pain in the arse. Of course, part of that is working off of Chris Jones, but I still think he’s a solid player that can beat 1 on 1 blocking vs non elite o linemen.

Are you pleased we let go 38 million in guaranteed contracts and in return took on less than 20 mil guaranteed?

We'll see how they perform next year

I haven't been negative about these signings today.

A little rich for backups but we'll see.

1/3 of the AAV at 1/3 of the guaranteed money for a better athlete that’s 26 instead of 30. Respected teammate who played on 2 Super Bowl teams. Significantly better signing than what the Falcons gave Onyemata.

Guy had 48 tackles last year, which would have been a career year for David O.

But according to you he barely played, it’s a defensive line rotation buddy, not complicated.

He is an ascending young player and better than what we had last year for less money, win for the Saints 100%.

I didn't say that

Then we need to sign/draft about 4 more DL who will contribute

He's entering his prime years. We will see if he's ascending or not next year.

He wasn't better than Onyamata. Look at Gyno's stats.

Can he be? Yes, but he hasn't shown that yet

I hope they can be starters because they will be very expensive backups. I like the other guy cuz he shows he's at least potentially elite in one category so far with his on field play

Tuttle and Onyemata had some production and iffy grades, they just got paid a helluva lot more than the two we settled on. It reads as if you’re bearish on similar production for less money. Odd for a cap hawk

Onyemata is on the wrong side of 30. Snap counts were a career high last year, the counting stats didn’t keep up though. That does not make one superior, we just simply had no one else except journeyman DT

His bread and butter was always elite athleticism and explosiveness - elite very, broad, 10 yd, 3 cone. We will see what happens twice a year

It's still about long-term strategy. If we fit these guys in while rebuilding our cap I'd like it a lot more from that perspective.

Now they have to contribute as starters on a team with expectations who will ask them to anchor their interior DL. It's a big ask for 2 guys who have never proven to be full time players.

It’s not like the d line was great last year, and I think you are overselling DO a little bit. If we draft a premier DT with this group, we are almost certainly just as good, if not better off for way less cash.

You of all people should be happy about this.

We literally spent less money for younger and equal or better players. Karens gotta Karen man.

Lost two DTackles and signed two DTackles.

Great math skills bud.

Not a full time player, but had 48 tackles to David O’s 43.

Got it Karen. Great eval.

I’d say one will be better than Tuttle but O is better than the other one. I’d still like to draft one kinda high. Kancey could be the pass rush dt on passing downs we need.

I actually really like saunders. My thing is you are going to need much more than him and shepherd.

i don't think either guy stops us from having to go DT early in the draft... hell, they are the only 2 that we have under contract at the moment, with a no-name signed to a futures contract...

i expect us to draft one early and to bring back one of Roach, Street, or Huggins to fill in the rest of the rotation
