Saints should cut Haener and claim Kyle McCord

He's at least got some tools. Would've been happy if the Saints had drafted him in late 4th to 6th round if we hadn't picked Shough. He didn't suck in preseason, Eagles are just loaded.

support. McCord has some good tools to work with.

I’d take that. Haener stinks.

Why not?
I'm sure somebody will try and pick him up.
He'll definitely land on a practice squad somewhere or Land on a 53-man roster.

Anyone else like Deveto from the NYG for a qb?

Saints should cut Haener

There's no world where Haener should make this roster.
And, there's no need to give a guy like McCord a roster spot.

Haener had to have been a lost bet payoff. The guy is a clown with absolutely no skills other than taking Gaye glamour shots.

Drafting McCord late instead of Shough was an argument I made in real time

If you like McCord, offer him a spot on the practice squad. It's absurd to suggest he should get a spot on the active roster.

I think the arm talent advantage Shough has is significant. McCord's slow release is death for him at the NFL level, IMO.
Of course, the cost of getting McCord was far less.
I don't mind putting a guy like McCord on the PS at all.

You think ther is a rule that requires you to carry a 3rd QB on the 53 man roster?

I agree, way better than Haener
Posted on 8/25/25 at 6:39 pm to GynoSandberg
Yes because college stats ALWAYS translate perfectly to the nfl, and systems/coaching don't matter whatsoever.

There’s not a single attribute that Haener brings tit he table IMO.

That's a weird take away from the point I was making, but I don't disagree.

Quinn Ewers looks better than All of our QBs currently on the roster.
