Thomas has 94 of them.

75%

How did we get here?

After a rough start, Cook has shown moments, but it's clear that neither Brees or Bridewater has much faith in anyone other than MT. Maybe Loomis and Payton need to take a long hard look at addressing this position high in the draft instead of hoping to catch an UDFA darling.

Michael Thomas is the biggest reason to cheer this team on and you want his numbers taken away.

I mean Thomas is amazing and Kamara is taking a ton of catches away from WRs based on the offense being run. Also, injuries have limited our main guys from playing the full 10 weeks to date.

While it is clearly a need, Thomas is just that good.

I think it just shines more of a light of how disappointing Smith has been after showing a bit of promise early last year. Injuries haven't helped, but he just isn't anywhere close to being someone Drew can depend on.

You realize cheap receivers is all you will see next to CGM, on account of him making 20 million, right? It would be great to put Devante Adams next to him, but you only have so much money that you can invest in a potion.

Maybe Thomas was open on 75% of pass attempts? I've heard you can't guard Mike.

Why I mentioned the draft, where you can play them on the rookie scale for a few years and hopefully it pan out, THEN you worry about paying them.

I’m glad to welcome you to the Saints bandwagon. You should get use to this. Brees typically relies upon one receiver and running back to throw to with other receivers getting looks periodically.

Colston/Bush, Graham/Sproles and now Thomas/Kamara.

Welcome aboard and Who Dat!

Henderson, Meachem, Pierre, and Shockey say hello.

There was also that guy Colston that you previously mentioned, along with Moore, Pierre, and Meachem and Henderson were still contributing.

Drew and Sean seem to have completely given up on the wide outs. I think we threw the ball 14 times to a back last game. And the majority of those were first reads. The offense was safe and effective but man is it hard to watch. Super conservative after how poor the oline played last week I guess.

I really miss explosive plays.

Offense scored 24 with those safe throws...Bears fans would suck your dick for 24 points from their offense

Yeah you can tell he doesn't like how trequan is playing.

He is always taking his aside and telling him what to do

Michael Thomas should be in the MVP discussion

I really wonder why he isn't

Because it just doesn't happen for receivers. Harrison is '02 set the all time mark in receptions in a season and didn't even get a vote.

Yes, look at the numbers. Besides one year (when Lance Moore lead us in receptions) the leading receiver has had way more than the next WR.

It’s usually Colston or Graham with 120 catches, Reggie or Sproles with 90 catches and Moore, Devery or Stills with about 60 or 70. This year Thomas has 114 and Kamara has 59. But Thomas is that good and Brees and Payton find ways to get him the ball. Cook is coming on and he will get more passes.

This shouldn’t be anything new to anyone.

Why would I care what one of the worst offenses in the league is doing?

I am talking about the Saints, which should have much bigger goals. Currently we are not in the top 10 in offense (yards or scoring) and scoring 24 points against the Bucs is not exactly great.

The game was won. But at some point the defense won't be able to dominate when it matters. I expect the offense to rise up. Just pointing out how conservative the game plan was. Which should be telling on how we feel about or Oline and WRs right now.

Agree that’s true, historically, Sun, but
It would help all concerned if there was another option to loosen coverage on MT

I don’t disagree. But even if we had a second guy (like a Jarvis Landry) I doubt they get more catches than 70 or so. Reality is Thomas will get a ton and Kamara will get a bunch as well and the third guy will get some.

Could we do better than Smith and Ginn and Kirkwood? Yes. But they wouldn’t make that big a difference in distribution IMHO.
