it doesn't but i think it means we're not going to get Butler and draft a CB early.

Yes! I like this guy as good quality CB depth.

Probably just means they signed him cheap to compete for a job.

Swann/Crawley/Williams/Harris are all on thin ice.

Yeah my guess is either he was waiting for other offers and never got one, or another team tried to sign him for the minimum so it was sign him now or not have the option later.

He was damn good for us last year.

He shut OBJ the frick DOWN.

He is a damn strong #3 CB and on our team of cripples he is a very valuable signing.

Love the move. Don't think it really means anything regarding Butler one way or the other, but definitely wanted us to bring this guy back for another year. One of the semi-bright spots in our secondary last year at times. Great depth signing if nothing else.

#3? He's a legit #2 and an okay fill in as a one. He was our most consistent corner last year. Not sure I could say him or Crawley was better, but he didn't have as many mistakes as Crawley.

This is a great move. I think he surpassed all expectations last season and he along with all of our dbs should be improve with an improved pass rush. Surprisingly still PFF has him in their top 50 free agents list LINK

He's actually a really good slot/nickel guy and is very adequate as a #2.

If we get Butler AND stay healthy I'm really happy with our 1/2/3 and depth. Just need a passrush and another safety. And health.

There is still a huge hole at CB that won't be filled by nickel and dime backs

He played well and a ton on the outside. Not sure where this nickel nonsense is coming from. He's a starting outside corner.

If we get Butler there definitely is not.

Breaux/Butler/Moore/PJ Williams/Crawley is more than adequate. The only question is health.

If they can add legitimate passrush that secondary would be fine.

Just for reference Moore started 12 of his 13 games here (and had 2 ints, 15 pds, and 56 tackles).

Breaux started all 6 of his games. Crawley only started 5 of his 15 games. Webb started 7 of his 14 games.

Moore was our number one corner last year, even though he didn't always cover the ones (sometimes it was Crawley or Breaux).

We keep adding cheap, productive depth. It's a solid move and I don't think it really has any bearing on the Butler trade or our draft needs.

Exactly. This has no bearing on the Butler deal.

He will compete with PJ for the nickel corner.
