Saints place Zach Strief on IR

If Armstead comes back after the Bye then we should be fine with Ram at RT. Honestly this was the direction the Saints were always going in, but it would have been nice to have Strief as a backup.
Probably signals the end of a great Saints career and shows you why those 7th round picks are important.

Good post, we just need a reliable backup now and we are still good. Hell of a career for Strief

They have to have been on the initial 53 man roster (which Strief was).
On Armstead, he was very close to playing this week, but they wanted to be a little extra cautious and give him another two weeks with the bye coming up.
Unless there is a set back he is playing against Det.

Half of me hopes he's okay with coming back and taking a paycut to be a backup, but I think its over.

Yeah if he doesn't come back this year (which he can), I think that's the last we see of him. Even if he agrees to a paycut, I don't think he'd come back at his age to be a backup.
That said, if he stays in shape I can definitely see us giving him a call during the season if someone goes down.
