Seems to be a trend here with the OL

Tannebaum’s mock popped up today with Odunze falling to us. Slim chance but that would be a run to the podium pick if it shook out that way

Dane Brugler (The Athletic)

14. New Orleans Saints: Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama

This match feels too easy. Turner isn’t quite Micah Parsons, but he can be used in a similar way with his ability to drop, rush from different angles or be an impact player versus the run. He would instantly upgrade New Orleans’ front seven.

Ben Standig (The Athletic)

14. New Orleans Saints: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

Offensive tackle is the (big) easy decision, considering Trevor Penning’s struggles. Having Bowers, Brugler’s fifth-ranked prospect, on the board changes the equation for an offense that lacks difference-making pass catchers beyond Chris Olave.

Mike Tannebaum (ESPN) 3/26/24

14. New Orleans Saints

Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

Offensive line might be the bigger position of need, but this value for Odunze is just too good. He's available at this point only because I've had five QBs come off the board, pushing down a great player. It's a break for the Saints, who need another young WR to complement Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Odunze is one of my favorite prospects in the class -- he ran a 4.45 40 at 6-foot-3 and 212 pounds in Indy and plays even bigger and faster than that. I love his physicality at the catch point and ability to break tackles in the open field. He had 92 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 scores last season and should develop into a frontline No. 1 WR. I see a lot of Terrell Owens in his game.

Jordan Reid (ESPN) 3/5/24

14. New Orleans Saints

Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

Durability concerns have plagued Ryan Ramczyk, and the development of Trevor Penning hasn't been as quick as the Saints had hoped, leaving a major question mark at right tackle. Considering they are essentially all-in on Derek Carr, the Saints must improve the protection around the soon-to-be 33-year-old quarterback. Fuaga is one of the most powerful blockers in this loaded OT class, and he's a plug-and-play option on the right side. He has allowed one sack over his two seasons as a full-time starter.

Mel Kiper (ESPN)

14. New Orleans Saints

Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State

As I mentioned last month, the Saints have seen 2022 first-rounder Trevor Penning struggle for two seasons; how much longer will they trot him out there at left tackle? In a deep and talented tackle class, they could upgrade in Round 1. Fashanu, who turned only 21 in December, has fantastic movement traits as both a pass- and run-blocker. At 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, he looks like he could play tight end. He started 21 games on the left side in college.

New Orleans might also be in the market for a wideout to pair with Chris Olave, who has put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to start his career. Brian Thomas Jr. (LSU) and Xavier Worthy (Texas) are the next receivers up in my rankings.

Field Yates (ESPN)

14. New Orleans Saints

Troy Fautanu, OT/G, Washington

The Saints have been quiet in free agency and guard Andrus Peat is now a free agent. New Orleans restructured longtime right tackle Ryan Ramczyk's deal, and he said in December he was uncertain of his NFL future. Furthermore, the team has to make a decision about 2022 first-rounder Trevor Penning, who has really struggled and might be due for a position switch to guard -- or at the very least have to compete for a starting left tackle gig. Considering all of that, Fautanu's value and versatility is too good to pass up. He was a college left tackle, and despite some talk of him projecting better inside at guard, I believe he has the goods to stay on the outside in the pros. No matter where he plays, he's just a flatout baller and would make an immediate impact blocking for quarterback Derek Carr.

Brad Spielberger (PFF)

1.14 Ola Fashanu OT Penn St

There may be some prospect fatigue within the media regarding Fashanu. For all we know, the NFL doesn’t view it the same way. but he did struggle mightily in a matchup this past season against two big Ohio State defensive ends in Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloau.

That said, New Orleans would probably be ecstatic if it could add arguably the best pure pass-protecting left tackle in the draft class at No. 14 overall. This would address maybe the team's biggest roster need in a major way.

Eric Galko (CBS)

Amarius Mims OT UGA

Even as the fifth tackle taken, it's growing unlikely that Mims won't get into the 20s, as he has incredible upside and tools to develop. The Saints can test him out along with Trevor Penning to see who becomes their left tackle and left guard for the future

Jamie Eisner (The Draft Network)

14. New Orleans Saints
Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State

A few months ago, you couldn't get out of the top 10 in any mock draft without seeing Olu Fashanu's name. Now? Finding a landing spot isn't so easy. Adding another pass-rusher could still be in play despite the addition of Chase Young, but a high-upside talent like Fashanu falling—coupled with Trevor Penning's lack of development—makes this a solid pick for the Saints.

Adam Caplan (Pro Football Network)

14) New Orleans Saints: Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

The New Orleans Saints have major questions on the left side of their offensive line where Taliese Fuaga could start immediately (left tackle or left guard). He’s one of the top offensive linemen available in this class and would be a solid value with the 14th pick of this 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

I want Fashanu...

But I also wanted Penning, so what do I know?

With the Ram news, the loss of Peat and Penning being useless, it has to be OT right?

ETA: No reason to draft defense. The NFL is removing defense from the game.

I think those guys are all going in the top 10.

I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of the picks listed. The only thing that worries me about Mims is the terms "raw" and "projected ceiling" get thrown around a lot and that sounds all too familiar to me where the Saints are concerned.

There aren't many 1st round graded OL prospects I wouldn't be ok with. The teams definitely got a list of needs between the defensive line, playmaker, secondary etc. But Alt, Fashanu, Latham, Fuaga, Fautanu, Mims etc are all upgrades over Penning.

I mean lets be honest I thought Landon Young was a substantial upgrade over Penning. If Penning doesn’t show substantial improvement under this new coaching staff, wouldn’t surprise me if hes cut in the last roster cuts. You cant just carry a guy on your roster you’re afraid to put on the field.

We all know what the Saints need for the 1st pick and that's OL...

But it will be hard to pass if Turner, Bowers, Brian Thomas or any other highly rated player is there... Be strong and take what we need and not BPA...

Most analysts feel this draft class is the best in years. If we can trade down 5-10 spots in the 1st round to pick up another 2nd or 3rd round pick, we should jump at the opportunity.

This was a quick mock I did with a couple trade downs
