The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The New Orleans Saints are essentially doing this by bringing in the exact same pass rushing group that generated little to no pass rush all throughout the 2024 season. The only new addition to this pass rushing unit is 7th round pick Fadil Diggs, who probably won't see many snaps this season.

As a result there is a real chance we can break our own 2012 record for worst defense all time (which we set with only 16 games):

Do these people want the Saints to spend from their salary cap or not? Because the last article was about how we weren't doing enough to save cap space.

While the defense has a lot of the same faces on the d-line, it will be a completely new defensive scheme so these same faces will be asked to do different things. Plus, you can only stretch the cap so far and reset the talent on the roster when you start FA around $100M over the cap

Yes, because then they can get the clicks by writing articles about how foolish the Saints were to spend cap space they don't have to revamp the defensive line without addressing some other position

I’d prefer they not let T Rex walk for nothing and miss horribly on picks like Davenport and Foskey.

Shough is going to prove to be a wasted pick with decent edge players available. We could get a QB with our top 3 pick next year and maybe have a promising edge if somehow Loomis stumbles into one.

Not really, T Rex was said at the time and many knew Foskey was a bust at the time. Hindsight for you though with no criticism ever of Loomis.

You're right, we have literally never discussed letting Trey Hendrickson go on this board. No one has ever been critical of FO on this.

How fresh and new your thoughts are.

Just off top of my head, Ezeiruaku, Tomoloau, Mike Green, Landon Jackson were all available and will prove to be better picks than the 38 year old Shough.

Wonder who the Saints should have signed and who wants to come to Nola currently since everyone knows we probably won’t be very good?

Good. I’d rather bottom out than just fill homes with average players.

This is my major gripe. Ezeriku or Green were still on the board. Woukd have much preferred we pick them. I really like Ezeriku and think it was a mistake passing on him.

Highly likely we suck next year and pick top 5 anyway and have the chance to pick a qb with better pedigree.

This is a tank year. Everyone knows it. Why would we spend on an edge rusher when we need to conserve everything we have to put our next qb in a position to succeed. Just embrace the suck this season. Spend some time with your family on Sundays. Go catch a game in the dome for $30 with your kids. They will love the time spent and the experience win or lose. We are in a rebuild.
