The Saints aimed to sign Jimmy Graham earlier this offseason and now appear to be considering another TE reunion, as they hosted Benjamin Watson for a visit, per league source.

Brees loves him...called him one of his favorite teammates ever.

Was still productive last season after missing 2016 with injury. PFF grades were bad though.

2015 was the best season of his career with Brees at QB.

Yes.

I always love it when we get players older than me. The NFL is running out of them

This would be a great signing - he and Brees have a great connection. Instant upgrade over Fleener.

Can't be their plan for a #1 TE but perhaps a good play for a 2 or three?

Love this idea.

1. Numbers very comparable to Graham last year.

2. Great blocker who is also a weapon in the passing game.

3. Great locker room guy.

4. If we drafted one of the young TEs, he could be a great teacher and mentor.

We should have kept him another year before he went to Baltimore.
He can run that seam is reliable and would have cost a third the money of fleener.
I think we sign him on a 1 yr deal which is smart
Watson better receiver than Hooman . Hooman better blocker

Better receiver, blocker, and human being than any of the tight ends we have. Though you may be able to make a case for blocking for one of our not so good receiver TEs, maybe.

Could we do better that Watson, probably. Could we do it with who is available in FA now near his price, probably not but tell if I'm wrong, I surely could be. The draft may be out best route to our future TE but this is a bird in the hand.
