Brah I keep forgetting all about Ja’Lynn Polk. He’d be a hell of a pick in the second round too.

I don't have any charts but does being bracketed or double teamed affect the contested catch rate %?

I didn't ask about 'single coverage separation %' though.

I mean I asked about was goes into player X contested catch % and you come back with "percentile separation percentage in single coverage".

It means he's really bad getting open in single coverage.

I don't know if there is a stat for what you wanted, but I doubt he's getting open better against double teams, especially with his overall terrible numbers in terms of getting open.

Getting open isn't his thing. It's just not.

I think people on here overrate him in particular because he had possibly his best game of 2023 against LSU and he's from LA.

You brought up his poor contested catch %.
I asked does that include dbl coverage, bracketing or even triple coverage. Because not specific to Coleman those things matter in such a metric you brought cause I don't know. I mean if team all year said "to win we must stop WR X", would not that be a factor in the stat you brought up being "Player contested reception %"?

I’m SFP. If its not an original thought (thread) that I have, then I completely disagree.

I’m not so sure about the rest of your rant, but this is spot fricking on

No. I brought up his poor contested target rate.

Well, again, I brought up contested target rate, and that's why I gave you his ranking on getting open against single coverage.

If he can't get open against single coverage, why do we even need to discuss " dbl coverage, bracketing or even triple coverage"?

I'd hope for McConkey but I could see the Chiefs taking him @ #32

Legette from SC is a hell of a player. I see him getting mocked late second to third. I bet he goes earlier than that.

I dont' have much to add to this thread, but I did think these statistics stuck out as pretty interesting.

The graph SFP provided shows total receptions and the contested rate. At quick glance I noticed MHJ (17.6), Odunze (17.92) & Coleman (17.0) all had similar contested targets until I realized this was receptions vs contested target rates. FYI, Nabers was at 15.3. So, I looked at total targets:

MHJ: 114 targets, which means at a 26.3% rate he has 30 contested targets
Odunze: 140 targets, 29 contested targets
Nabers: 128 targets, 22 contested targets
Coleman: 87 targets, 30 contested targets

Yeah, someone is going to scoop him up in the top half of the 2nd. His straight line speed is nuts.

Like with Coleman, he has red flags too. Guys who break out in their 4th or 5th year have really bad track records in the NFL.

Exactly.

It's going to be some project defensive end from a D3 school in backwoods Mississippi that would have went undrafted.

I get the concerns you listed. Who would be a better target in round 2.
