One TD pass allowed all season through 5 games. Rayne Prescott being the QB, pretty impressive so far

It really comes down to QB play and coaching and the Saints have career losers at both spots unfortunately

They prefer to give up huge pass plays, or PI, and then let the opponents rush it in.

ETA: They are stout in the redzone though.

TIL you make the playoffs via average game stats and not the wins and losses like I’ve thought my entire life

Looking forward to our playoff run in that case

Espn showed that Mahomes had 15 passes tonight where receivers were open by 5+ yards. The most in the season thus far.

The play where Mathieu fell down and Juju took it for 50+ he looked over and gave a “wtf” gesture like someone was supposed to be there to make the tackle.

I’m assuming that was Abrahams who was, inexplicably, 50 yards downfield covering no one at all.

Mathieu knows the defense and where everyone is supposed to be. Explains why they had receivers running wide open all night.

I hate when people make me defend Carr, that interception early was bad, but overall he was not the problem. Our skill players overall are lacking. Every quarterback needs help at some point.

Mahomes had a bad pick as well and missed a couple of easy throws, but he has Andy Reid designing some nice easy throws. Check the chiefs YAC, our defense tonight was atrocious.

Overall there are probably about five or six quarterbacks obviously better than Carr, then there is a group of average to slightly above QBs. He fits in that category.

If they had a consistent pass rush they would be dominant.

BS

Chiefs moved the ball at will tonight by only throwing to tight ends.

Don’t wanna hear that

We win the toss, choose to receive, then throw a pick on the first possession. Chiefs go on a 6 minute drive for a TD.

This is Mahomes in Arrowhead. That sets the tone for the whole game and allows them to settle into exactly what they want to do. No threat from our offense. They didn’t relinquish the lead all game

Every time we get the momentum we give up a big pass play or a pass interference penalty.

The frustrating thing about the interception, is why would he throw a jump ball to one of our receivers. Also, I believe it was a 1st down play.

The defense has to be better though. That is our Head Coach’s specialty and that is where most of the talent is on the team.

This might be true but you know what is also true? Mathieu can no longer run like a safety needs to run.

Other teams watch film and they see it and exploit it by making him cover ground he cannot cover anymore.

The 2024 Saints are going to be the answers to a lot of trivia questions in the future.

Who had the best redzone defense in 2024 and still lost 10 games?

Who was the only team to lead the league in scoring the first 4 games and somehow wind up 2-2?

Which coach consistently lost 3 games in a row, finished 8-9 or 9-8, and somehow kept their job every year?
