With Matthew Stafford and Aaron rodgers hinting at a trade the saints now have multiple options for Qb. Saints have 4th best odds for Stafford, Deshaun looks like he wants to go to the Jets. Jamies is already in the building, and who knows about Aaron Rodgers.

Winston 70%
Stafford 30%
Watson 5%
Rodgers 0%
Taysom -5%

What am I missing with Winston?? He had a 1-year $1.1 mill contract. He probably ain't doing another year at a discount like that.

Surely he can be had in the 10-15 range though

Nobody wanted him last year and he really didn’t do anything to improve his value

If you’re going to go down that road for a vet QB making vet money then you should go all in and swing for the fences. Watson is the only one that makes sense to me because he’s the only guy who can transform your team with enough football left in him to make what you give up in assets worth while. If Stafford were a free agent I would say just go that route as it only costs money and you get 3-5 years of elite play from him. Offer Houston Michael Thomas, a 1st this year and a 2nd next year and then you rely on Sean to make the offense work with average WR until you get your draft assets back and cap under control which we know he can do. He made Thomas, not the other way around. You could even offer Thomas and the next 2 1st rounders and still come out on top with Watson but you’d have to keep the defense in tact to take the load off the offense until you got more draft assets to replenish what you lost in the trade.

I said about 10 months ago that I liked Justin Herbert and that I was surprised that the Saints hadn't found a backup for the past 5-7 years. I was downvoted 82 times, with no upvotes. The Herbert part has proven sound enough. Most people argued that no backup would sit for 5-7 years. Aaron Rodgers sat for 3, and Favre moved on at age 38, I think. Quarterbacks playing beyond the late 30's is a relatively new phenomenon, and most starters in the NFL are drafted in the 1st round. I'll say it again, though; I'm surprised that we haven't developed a backup for Drew Brees in the past 5-7 years.

Lol offer Thomas to Houston so Watson can come here and throw the ball to a #3 WR and a couple UDFA’s. I’m sure he’ll be just as happy to be here than he was in Houston after the Hopkins trade...

You people should come to grips with the fact that Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford aren’t coming here. Watson is unlikely, but you never know with Houston.

Move past denial and on to accepting Winston as your next quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

In almost every draft thread last year I said we need to draft Jefferson. Was told that was stupid and last thing we need is more wide out on this team. 1400 yards later and posts like this make me smile....

Just because Jefferson was great this season doesn't make you right.

He wouldn't have had half those yards on this team.
