The only Saints home games that have had solid painted endzones since 2002 when flubber was first installed in the Superdome were the handful of games that were played at Tiger Stadium in 2005.

It's finally happening - no thanks to lazy Doug Thornton of SMG who continues to peddle tired and inaccurate excuses.

Todd Bouman and his Troy Aikman-style chinstrap leads the Saints against division rival Carolina at Tiger Stadium in 2005. Saints fans from the entire region rejoiced upon seeing the solid painted black endzones.

Having fans is cool, but Saints games in TS.....I still have some serious PTSD about that season.

I think it would be completely different this time around TBH. 2005 was the season from hell. Major difference being that this season every team is going through weird stuff.

NFL isn't doing that anymore, actually. It's changed to the breast cancer and prostate cancer awareness and likely not coming back.

Oh it is. Along with lots of kneeling, SAY HER NAME shirts, George Floyd facemasks. It is going to be a a regular Antifa BLM fest on the LSU field.

Let the MELT begin.....

I think Winston is right, they want to get away from it as fast as they can and cancer month is a good excuse. Adam Silver said the NBA is running from that shite the moment the new season starts, too.

What’s this infatuation with painted end zones? Who really cares?

I have seen the future and racism needs solving from athletes in 2024 and again in 2028 for some reason

When the endzones are solidly painted, can we have cage matches during halftime in those very same endzones.

Agreed. Absolute laziness on the SMG to trot out the ugliest field in the NFL.

True story, lads - I made me mum take me to Massey’s Sports Center after a game against St. Martin’s when I asked the WR I was matched up against where he got his Troy Aikman-style plastic capped chinstrap like the one the great Todd Bouman is rocking in Tiger Stadium

The very next week I was rocking one as well, and was the best dressed player on the pitch what with me eyeblack, 3/4 length fitted tshirt with contrasting colour, and spatted cleats

My undershirt was similar to Boumans but it was worn with our white away jersey - you need the colour contrast

Remember walking up the ramp as a 16 year old and seeing Steve Smith for the Panthers score on an end around or something. Didn't even get to my seat yet.

Why are you calling it a Troy Aikman-style chinstrap. Looks pretty generic to me

STILL the best looking Saints end zone ever.

MAYBE the game had a little to do with it.
