Recruiting doesn’t mean much anymore I reckon
Agreed, but it's definitely a choice to hire recruiter-first college guys for NFL coaching positions. Will be interesting to watch unfold.

Not at all
He didn't even coach the full DL at LSU
At least Orgeron had that ability in his pre-LSU career (And we saw how he worked in the NFL first hand)

Of all the colleges to poach from, you're going to take the guy at your states flagship University.
We trying to alienate the fanbase already?
Because they are trying to win football games? The same reason that LSU hired Joe Brady away from the Saints.

When it comes to the saints, Fuk LSU! Great hire!

At least it’s the Saints and not literally any other team

When it was two guys you could read the tea leaves, now that its 3 you don't have to. Its very apparent.
They are specifically hiring college guys with heavy recruiting experience for Defense.
There is obviously a reason

i'm a bit lost at your use of the word recruiting experience.
i mean, i see some of these moves as we need to hire some hungry positional COACHES.... ones that actually are use to COACHING and developing TALENT. Saints have failed to develop a lot of talent over the years.

In college, you have to recruit players. I hope this piece of information helps.
All three guys were heavily involved in recruiting players. Sirmon has been the recruiting coordinator several times, Bo Davis is considered one of the best recruiters in the business, etc
They are obviously going for a "type" here, personality wise.

Ross Jackson pointed out Davis's experience under Saban and that has relationships with Vic Fangio's defense.

But he has everywhere else. I think having Kevin Peoples is a Blake Baker decision, irrespective of Bo Davis.
I would definitely put Davis more towards “coach” than “recruiter”. His commit list as the primary recruiter on 247 is solid but not jaw dropping by any means.

so because of their recruiting personalities, you are saying that type personality is being bet on to be better coaches here with the Saints where recruiting has very little to do with the structure of acquiring players in the league?
I am still simply seeing these great recruiters are also great positional coaches.

I am simply noticing the trend and pointing it out, and then trying to parse those tea leaves.
They are obviously looking for something specific both on and off the field.
They've gone after three defensive assistants who have all spent significant time in college, and all have spent significant roles in recruiting.
That's obviously purposeful. Perhaps they feel like the specific personality type that does well in recruiting will also do well getting the most of players.
Perhaps they targeted them because they thought those guys would jump at the chance to not recruit anymore.
Who knows. I'm simply pointing out the trend and attempting to extrapolate

I ain't hating your ideas, just was trying to understand what the recruiting aspect of them had anything to do with moore's mindset of bringing them in.
but, i think we can all agree, we probably about to see some huge youth movements. moore wants hungry coaches ready to coach and develop a lot of young talent in a scheme that the coaches understand well.

So let me get this straight
He's fricking the Saints by hiring a guy that if he leaves LSU, it fricks the Tigers
How does that make sense

Where do you fit in that he is trying to help the Saints which is by your estimation fukking the Tigers?

You guys can't have it both ways...

Hope the Saints franchise falls into the gulf.

Yeah no doubt. If I'm a college coach, I'd look to bolt to the league too. I can't even imagine how nauseating it is dealing with kids and their handlers and now with NIL a piece of the puzzle as well. I'd shoot out to the league too.
