It looks like it's telling us that having a good QB matters more than where your draft picks come from

Consistent winning is exactly what it is, not what you define it as.

So you get to choose the definition?

3 7-9 seasons is not consistent winning.

And the down fall of the Saints “winning” was the fan base and the organization were happy with winning the one SuperBowl

You can be happy with winning a bunch of regular season games.

I’m not.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneer organization has 2 SuperBowl wins.

Tampa fricking Bay.

And are in position to win another one over the next several years.

Let that sink in when you’re touting our consistent “winning”.

I agree. we werent that consistent....5 seasons ago....

MOTHERfrick! How ridiculous is it to go back that far to be a negative frick.

We literally won 4 division titles in a row. No South team has ever done that. We won more games over those 4 seasons than any other team IN THE LEAGUE.

Some how the Bucs winning 2 super bowls 20 years apart with only 2 division titles and no playoff wins during that span is more consistent.

Homie, you dont know what the word "consistent" means.

Tampa Bay winning is like new york giants winning it all. Yet they're far from consistent

Maybe if we were a bad team we would have more SEC players.

Patriots are at the top of taking SEC players.

Having a top 5 quarterback of all time paired with one of the top play callers helps a little.

Largest percentage by far is the Patriots. Interesting

I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting but not sure many of those have been standouts for them, exception of the serial killer.

Wow

I can call names with the best of them.

If you want to go down that road I can go toe to toe with you.

We blew multiple opportunities in your prescribed time frame to win a second SuperBowl with a HOF QB.

When do you think we will have another opportunity to blow one?

You notice how there is no -er on the end of that? That’s because it’s an exclamation and not a name. Chill out, motherfricker

The irony! The only way you have multiple opportunities to blow a SB is if you are a consistent winner lol

Wait....so you’re not name calling?

Let me get this straight

By your rules and definitions.

Calling me a motherfricker is not name calling?

Is that what you are trying to say?

Also....

Calling someone a “negative frick”....

Is not name calling?

Wow

More name calling and you’re demanding.

When in your expert and highly intelligent opinion do you think we will have our next opportunity to blow a chance to get to the SuperBowl?

Uhhh, you could say the same thing about Aaron Rodgers or Russel Wilson...hell, Matt Ryan has been winning consistently and hasn't won one Super Bowl.

I think one of the biggest reasons why we don't draft SEC players is because most of the coaching done in that league already taps out a player's potential.

Take Alabama for instance. How many of those guys take a huge leap in productivity from their time at Bama to the NFL? Julio? Hightower? You could say that for a lot of players in the SEC. Whereas most of the guys the Saints draft are already on that level talent-wise, they just aren't as developed or well-coached, giving them a higher ceiling.

Don't get it wrong, I still think the Saints would take Alabama players because there are exceptions. They obviously would have taken Surtain or Jones, but I wouldn't doubt it if it's a big reason why they look elsewhere and value other players from outside the SEC more.

There is a difference between a high floor and a high ceiling guy, so I agree with WicKed WayZ. A lot of good SEC guys are already the players they are going to be when they get out of college, while a small school guy like Davenport or Turner have the intangibles and the upside to hit that higher ceiling.

2002-2021 = 20 seasons.

They had a winning season in 5 of them. That's not consistency. Jesus.

Consistency isn't getting a one in a million player to come and get a ring one year. That would be like saying the Cavaliers are consistent winners even though they went to a handful of Finals with LeBron and won 1 ring over his 11 seasons with them and then discounting the other years they had where they were abysmal

For comparison's sake. Since 2006, the Bucs have had 6 of their first-round draft picks come in the top 10. The Saints, since 2006, have only picked twice in the top 10.

The only teams with worse records since 2006 than the Bucs have been the Raiders, the Browns and the Jags.

Consistency isn't championships, it's being competitive over the average span of a decade or more. The Steelers haven't been to the SB since 08 and have missed the playoffs just as much as the Saints during that span and you can comfortably call them consistent winners in the NFL.

Who said they were consistent?

I said they had 2 SuperBowl wins.

That’s a big deal by anybody’s measurements.
