Saints Draft draft fewer SEC players than NFL average

This board has noticed (mainly from being LSU based) that the Saints don't appear to like LSU players. Well, I've noticed they don't seem to like or really care for SEC players. I doubt that GMs are really looking at the specific college or conference but it is weird and worth noting.
Over a quarter of the NFL rosters and draft selections are from the SEC. Not so much for the Saints 2008,09,10,11,12,13 the Saints drafted 3 SEC players. Holy shite!

And we have been consistent winners during that time...what is your point?

I get it but 21 seems like a shitload in that time span being you picked 5 over the past 50.

So, CSP hates the Big 12.

That I don't think it's anti-LSU.

Unbelievable they've won the decision so frequently and have like the 2nd best record in the last 5 years.
Drafting SEC players is the key to success!!11!

That we dont hate LSU. Thats what i typed. That was my point. Im not sure how you missed it. Cause i typed it.

We have only made it to and won one superbowl with a hall of fame qb. The SEC typically has more players in the superbowl than any other conference.

I agree with you. I wasn't replying to you.

Man that’s a lot of bad picks. Thanks for the list.

I don’t think the Saints are anti LSU.
I do think the Saints have had some horrible drafts and draft pics.
I also think three 7-9 seasons and blowing multiple opportunities (multiple opportunities) to get to a second SuperBowl ...
Is not my definition of consistent winning.

Consistent winning is exactly what it is, not what you define it as. We have had more wins than every team but the Patriots, Packers and Steelers since 2006.

SEC picks in the same time frame. Tried to pick some teams that have been bad and good most of that period. This was quick so there might be some A&M and/or Mizzou guys that were drafted before they joined the SEC so it might be off by a couple here or there.
Jacksonville - 24 (of 122 - 19.6%)
Cleveland - 26 (of 135 - 19.2%)
NY Jets - 24 (of 113 - 21.2%)
New England - 37 (of 143 - 25.8%)
Pittsburgh - 23 (of 131 - 17.5%)
Green Bay - 28 (of 147 - 19%)
Seattle - 30 (of 136 - 22%)
Not sure what it means, or if it means anything at all, just wanted to post for comparison (Saints 17 of 94 - 18%)
Biggest thing that jumps out off the bat is how few draft picks the Saints had in general in comparison to the other teams.

Its almost like the best SEC players go early in the 1st round and after that talent is more equally distributed among conferences. Maybe if we were a bad team we would have more SEC players.

Largest percentage by far is the Patriots. Interesting.
