I know it would make yall feel good if Loomis would say DA was POS HC but he's a professional and isn't going to trash another professional

That’s not it at all. It makes people feel angry that the owner could see what everyone else on the planet could see except Loomis and Allen himself, that hes not a good head coach and she had to get involved to fire him.

It’s the ego on him that he still believes it was a good hire and injuries doomed him.

No one here has any idea what Loomis really thought of DA or was planning prior to the Gayle requesting a move be made then. I get falling back on what he says at press conferences but it you all do not know that what coaches and executives say at press conferences is not always the real story then you don't know professional sports.

If you're going to assume, what not assume that Loomis was planning to make a move after the season like the team had always done under the Benson ownership.
I also get Loomis is to comes across as aloof and arrogant, but in the position GM's are in it's probably a hazard of the profession.

I’d easily take Mike McCarthy over Glenn any day personally I think Jerry Jones fricked up that in Dallas more than McCarthy

I get McCarthy has a good overall HC record so I'm not against him by any means, but I feel like people are way too dismissive of Glenn due to the hoopla of a "re-tread" making people basically equate him to Dennis Allen, rather than looking who Glenn as worked alongside and learned from during his career. For as much shite we give Loomis that he has earned, he did make at least 1 good point in reference to that the other day in regards to Dan Campbell's success in Detroit as well Sean Payton making it to the playoffs in his 2nd year with Denver and 2nd starting QB with this one being a rookie. Not all under Payton's tree will be successful, just like not all under Allen's tree will be failures, but almost no matter who we get will be set up for success if Mickey doesn't get fired or fix our cap situation ASAP

I know Jerry Jones is the GM, but how much if any stroke did McCarthy have in drafting players, going after FAs, signing their own FAs and such? I didn't follow the Cowboys as closely this year, but under McCarthy's tenure Dallas has typically had a good team on paper had 12-5 records with playoff births in '21/'22/'23.

Did their losses this year coincide with the Dak getting hurt?
Why he got fired for 1 losing season (7-10) after 3 consecutive 12-5 seasons? He & Jerry just have a falling out?

McCarthy's record is good, his offense is typically good, and from GB & Dallas they seemed to have a good salary cap situation to field a good overall team, so one concern I have with McCarthy or any candidate is are they capable enough to have success with our given cap.

Maybe not. But usually you’ll see Duncan, Triplett or Underhill comment on those kinds of reports, either confirm or deny them, by now and none of them have said shite. So idk

That means that he's probably the pick... But, they have to do due diligence with Glenn.

The Saints don’t have urgent interest in Aaron Glenn either

Every reporter is jockeying for breaking coaching news right now. She’s subtweeting this by replying to a guy from Chalmette rather than putting it out as relevant news. A story no one else is reporting is buried in a subtweet? Goes against all we know as far as breaking news

And it’s written to where you can’t really refute it. Did the Saints not have “urgency” with MM? I mean, compared to the Bears, I guess not. Does it really mean anything? They still might interview? Ok. What are you really saying here? Bunch of nothing

ETA and what does Mickey’s son have to do with anything? None of her tweet makes sense

Someone who they are not even interviewing? Say hi to the shark for me as you fly over.

Glenn seems like a good guy. However, my biggest concern is that I cannot understand why he is such a hot candidate. His defenses in Detroit have been average to below average. Maybe everyone just sees some potential?

I don't follow them at all, but it has been made public a few times that Jerry and his son have had disagreements about who to draft and a few times Jerry gave into Steven. If Jerry & Steven are dictating the draft, something tells me they are also dictating FA

Technicality here. He did not get fired, they chose to allow his contract to expire. It is why the Bears reached out to request permission for an interview (which was denied) while he was still with Dallas. No telling what the final straw was, but the fact that his seat was hot every year despite his regular season record pretty much tells me there is some inner turmoil there. This is the same guy that fired Jimmy Johnson after back-to-back SBs

Exactly how I feel. Also feel like people are just looking for the next Campbell like “culture guy.”

Well it seems like Detroit hitting on a shitload of early draft picks and having a good GM probably helped with that culture as well. Once they started winning some games with an elite offense it seemed like we heard more and more about that culture.

Hell Shawn Payton and Andy Reid have great cultures as well. Usually because they lit it up and won.

I feel like you could put a great “leader of men” type in a crappy situation and if you have loomis and Gayle and no long term qb then you’re still going to have a very low ceiling.

He’s a minority attached to the lightning rod organization of 2025. He’s not even the most accomplished minority DC who is pushing for a HC job

Just a click bait way of saying yea the Saints are definitely interested in McCarthy as their HC but feel no need to rush the process and make a fast desperate offer to him.

What exactly do you think “click bait” means?

In other words, McCarthy isn’t interested.
