Per Josina Anderson on Twitter

The Saints currently dont have urgent interest in Mike McCarthy. They may do a due diligence interview. Preexisting familiarity is there as a former assistant Saints coach. At the moment, he’s not being elevated over current options the team is considering.

Looks like Glenn is still the front runner

"Urgent interest" is a weird description. No interest and interest are clear descriptions, but urgent description makes little sense to me.

I’d easily take Mike McCarthy over Glenn any day personally I think Jerry Jones fricked up that in Dallas more than McCarthy

I hate this option. Hope I’m wrong but it’s the least appealing.

It is strange. Every other beat reporter around New Orleans seemed like MM would be highly sought after by our front office.

Maybe she’s just alluding to the Saints want to continue to do their due diligence and aren’t going to rush things just because they like McCarthy and he’s not coaching in the playoffs like Glenn and Brady and some of the other candidates. Hard to tell.

She’s saying that bc the saints could’ve reached out sooner for an interview but didn’t (like the bears did)

What does this even mean? Seems like some vague assumptions being made

ETA I had no idea Loomis’ kid was director of pro scouting for the cowboys

We all would.

Which means Loomis will pick Glenn.

I'm convinced Loomis reads this board then does the opposite.

Gayle and Loomis need to get on the jet , go get Mike and bring him back to NOLA. The way they tried to do with Watson.

It’s not that hard. McCarthy is our back up plan. Getting a young gun like Brady should be first

I don’t even believe this. Everyone with an X account is an expert. The Saints are a very deliberate team. They are scheduled to meet with McCarthy, they’ve had a virtual interview with Glenn. You could pick that apart as well, why haven’t they hired or offered the job to Glenn. I think they learned from their mistake with Allen and want to be more thorough. I believe they are going to interview Brady as well. Also, Mueller who is an advisor to Loomis is a big fan of McCarthy, not saying McCarthy will be the hire but to say he’s not seriously being considered is just not true.

So even worse with Loomis?

Just a click bait way of saying yea the Saints are definitely interested in McCarthy as their HC but feel no need to rush the process and make a fast desperate offer to him.

I've heard from enough other sources that say he is definitely on their short list of interviews. Nothing has changed unless McCarthy has told the team they are not high on his list and I find that doubtful given the situation and familiarity with the organization management. Not to say the Bears are not still his top choice theoretically.

Who learned exactly, cause Loomis keeps repeating that DA is a good coach

Technically he’s not saying good HC. I think we can all agree he’s a good dc and db coach.

I know it would make yall feel good if Loomis would say DA was POS HC but he's a professional and isn't going to trash another professional, nor should he. Just like a coach (a professional coach) would trash a player to the media and fans even when it's obvious the player is a fault or failing.

DA is gone. That's proof enough that they longer believed in his ability to fix the problem. Loomis said "It was a management decision and I am part of the management".

The nuances do not matter.

Sounds like we’ll be interested in him if all of our other choices turn us down….
