You can separate him being a different guy off the field and the same player on the field. They don’t have to be mutual.

not possible, ST insists he is the best QB ever and will carry this team to the SB with 150 TD and zero interceptions

this team will be 8-9 or 9-8 with winston and no better

i'm sorry, but i do know you. what is wrong with you? no one has said he is the best qb ever. why are you exaggerating so much? are you actively rooting against winston, because you dislike him that much? you rather find joy in telling optimistic fans they are wrong?

was he the same guy last season before his injury? he seemed to show improvement.

well they were 9-8 after he won 5 games and missed the rest of the season. they had much worse qb options behind him. this team has much better talent around him. who knows what the record will be, because it's a different season with different opponents. i like to believe he will improve as a QB. i hope he is fully healthy.

e's also practicing against a top 5 defense.

And your Point, he is still the same QB.
Will that be the excuse when he Sucks.

They were 5-2 under Winston as a starter last year, and Winston had an excellent QBR and passer rating.

Guess you didn't pay attention that Alvin Kamara ran more in those games then he did in his career. The Defense and Kamara was the reason the saints were 5-2. Watch the games Payton never called that many run plays in his life.

Calloway was our #1 wr during those games. No Thomas, so maybe it was smart to rely on the team strengths, huh?

his point is that he's practicing against one of the top defenses in the league. don't understand what's so hard

If he does it against the Rams, Bills, Bucs? Sure & it would be valid.

Jameis is not a perfect robot. With our D, we don't need him to be.

If you are expecting Jameis to be Brees, you will always be disappointed. They are nothing like each other in terms of QB style. Jameis is a gunslinger, that we have to hope year three of his time with the Saints will have curbed his mindset of "I can make any throw." We need him to be more Aaron Rogers rather than Brett Favre.

Reports from camp this far have been mixed for Winston.

In particular, Listening to wwl, Bobby Hebert reported that he thinks The backups (dalton and book) have looked better than Winston overall up through Monday. Tuesday, Winston looked much better when they went inside to practice. Nice deep balls and good accuracy. Backups looked about the same as other days.

Seems like the same thing with Winston. His bad is real bad but his good is just “good”, not great.
That’s always been my issue with Winston. He has some real bad days and his best days aren’t great- they’re good and there’s not enough of those. The disparity between his highs and lows are far apart too. I guess it’s a consistency issue but moreso an issue of how low he can go on any given day. Some qb’s are inconsistent but their lows aren’t that low. Winston can get real low.

If our defense stays strong then Winston will be fine. His play before his injury was good IMO. The offense was generally conservative but he unlike Brees had the ability to pop a deep shot when the time presented itself.

What bullshite.

ST says he was a guy we could afford and we didn't have to overpay this year, again. He's better than any other option we had.

The only real alternative is Jimmy G, who may not be an improvement and will cost a lot.

I think Winston is a qb that needs a strong defense.
If we get into a track meet, it could be trouble.

Winston has good ability downfield and I think we have the receivers to execute. Agreed that Brees had lost that.

It was a classic Jameis Winston day. Some spectacular throws and some head scratchers.

Glad some of yall are high on this guy, but the Saints wont be consistent as long as he's under center.
